I know this has probably been brought up before but I'd feel horrible if I didn't just say a quick idea. The best part about going to new systems is seeing the background. The colors, the nebulas, it's great. Reminds me of Homeworld. I feel that flying around in system is the same at every system with just a new backdrop. It would be amazing if the art team brought the nebula into the physical realm. What I mean by that is find a way to incorporate colorful dust clouds and such that you see in the backdrop into the foreground so that when I go into warp I go flying through space that seems more intense and full, and less like a black void against a back drop.

Ever play Freelancer? they had some very nice 3d nebulas and it didnŠt slow down performance.

That would be sweet; navigate through a nebula.

What I've been asking for ever since Freelancer is some cohesion when it comes to the backdrop. Jumping from 1 system to the other usually means a different background, so you never get that home sweet home feeling cause a system 100 jumps away might just look like your own homesystem, with constantly changing systems inbetween.
I'm not really a fan of Freelancer but when it comes to the immersion factor, EVE still got a lot to learn from Freelancer's localized background (but also localized music)

Yes, a VERY NICE surprise would be BLACK space! Nebulas are colorful from far far away.
Or at least an option to make space black.

freelancer was nice, for its time it was beautiful. I want to see better navigation for avoiding stuff like roids. Right now ships (expecially bc, bs, industrials and cap ships) have issues figuring out how to get around an object.

I agree! More black systems too! The beautiful nebulae are so ordinary that you go wow when you get into dark systems. Also when you go through dustclouds that you see in some missions it would be cool if you heard sounds of stuff hitting the hull, like flying though gravel here and there. Stuff like that.
