Hello all,
I have a Nvidia 7950 GT 521M card and I am constantly dropping to desktop. I get no errors, no disconnect errors from game or anything. Just a straight drop to desktop. I am currently running the driver that came with the card v91.47. I have downloaded the newest version, v93.71, and I still drop during combat. So I am asking what version are you running and NOT having this problem, with this card?
I have thought it might be my sound due to the fact that it is on-board sound, Bleh!, but my buddy has no sound issues at all with his on-board. I also turned off all sound in game and ran a mission and I still dropped. Not sure if that makes the sound card innocent or not, but sounded about right.
This is a new PC, every component is new, my old one never had this problem. I might just use the drivers it is. I also might just go get a sound card. I was just hopeing to not have to if it is video.
Motherbaord: P5N32-SLI Premium (on board sound with latest drivers for sound) Video Card: Nvidia 7950 GT 512M (v91.47 drivers)
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I would love to be able to play with my new PC.
Thanks all, B

All is well. Save yourself a TON of headaches, go buy a sound card and turn the on-board crap off.

LOL!
Ya, I know better is what makes me mad. But seeing him have no problems... just made me think they might have done something with on-board sound in the last few years.

Well, I have completely removed all forms of on-board sound and replaced it with a Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer. I only installed the barebone drivers, plus the latest patch, to run the sound card. I also did a clean up of all possible video drivers from any past drivers installed. I now have the 93.71 drivers from NVidia installed.
I am still dropping from game straight to desktop with no error or anything. I only last about 5-10 min in game when I drop, without fail. I have no idea what to do next. A brand new computer and I can't even play
Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Nice
I really hope you get this figured out soon. Our salvage bin is getting a little empty. lol.
You mentioned something about your wireless router (out of forums). I'm not sure if that would be the problem if you were already using it with your old computer and that worked just fine.

I have just upgraded my PC over the weekend. (almost everything incl. videocard, motherboard, RAM, proc.) I have now a MSI 7950 GT, have no CTD's (I didn't have it before with a GeForce 5700 card).
Are You playing in full screen or in window mode?
Never tested full screen though, but now after using it on the same resolution as windows the FPS went higher a little bit.

I've the same board, and am running two EVE clients at the same time, both with sound enabled, plus Winamp or Media Player running. I run two 7600GT cards, though. Running latest drivers for the chipset/audio and the graphics.
I'm just wondering what PSU you're running Brugar? I had major issues with my machine running an Antec NeoHE480 (came with my case), but it's totally stable with the older 600W Enermax 701A I had in my old machine. I'm running the P5N32 with a Pentium D 945 (2x3.4), 2x 7600GT, 500GB, 250GB, 36GB drives, and 2GB RAM.
One thing I did notice, though, is the nVidia LAN drivers are a bit wobbly, so I'm using the Marvell instead.

Brugar: I have the latest (93.71) drivers for my 7600GT card and everything seems to work fine. Like others have mentioned, check your PSU. It could be a power issue. Maybe try other graphics card-intensive games and see if something similar results.
Rock Lobster: Not to hijack the thread, I don't know how to send a private message, but what kind of FPS do you get on your cards? I have the 7600GT as well and 2.5 gigs of RAM but EVE is still miserable in FPS. I've seen the 'how to boost your FPS' sticky and it doesn't seem to help.

Edited by: Doctor Alexander on 16/01/2007 11:38:06 I use tuned "XTreme-G 97.44" drivers on my GF9750 (www.tweaksrus.com), even 2 client windows run flawlessly, without any crashes or lag (30 days already)
