A lesson for yappy young Turks: All wars must end.
Don't be caught on the sidelines running your mouth for one side or the other whilst settlements are negotiated, lest you be left on your Pat Malone.
I believe Sue is at the stage where he understands its overreach to try and hold Jita and Uedama. Correct me if I am wrong but Sue will probably be content in Jita.
Former Marmites in your alliance have a begrudging respect for Tora to say little publicly. You should follow suit.

Little did the young intrepid Tora know, that the Fedo's were in on it all along, and that they secretly planned for Tora to demote Belthazor to an assistant position because now they didn't have to endure the trek to the Ueadma HQ Break-room, which had the galaxy best goddamned coffee machine,
" Trademark and patent pending for galaxy best goddamned coffee machine all rights reserved".
The Break-Room which was normally filled with Codies, they would run around smashing others coffee cups, screaming obscenities and rhetoric of Coffee permits, Java Licenses, Concealed Espresso Papers, and the occasional White Girl Mochaccino Excuse Slip.
Or worst the Goons staring blankly into the coffee stained walls, twitching nervously anytime the words Primary were mentioned. Feverishly they would mouth the words RMT at passerby's that happen to make eye contact, the blank expression changing for only a moment, show a plea for help before returning to stare and somewhat artfully coffee stained walls.
Or the new neighbors who screamed at the Marmites, so loudly that they echoed though the halls of the station, and only the deeper confines of the station would the local chatter not reach to the Fedo's delicate hearing. They would get into there ships and circle the station yelling and scream in one giant synchronized dance. Recording the dance they would sing odd songs of insults and slightly homoerotic fanfiction, pertaining to Firefly and How I Met Your Mother. The Lead Neighbor conducting the dance and song with a very suspiciously shaped rod.
But now, after billions of isk paid out, multiple shadow agents placed, and one very loud agent placed outside, they finally got what they had alway wanted. Some who could brave the Codies, avoid the blank thousand yard stare of the goonies, ignore the voices of the neighbors.
They could get the coffee they wanted.
lol.

I like the PVP skills in your alliance ( ,and I've had this discussion on tmspk with one young buck in your team before,) but Eve is replete with excellent pvpers.
I don't agree with the way some talent has been shed, but he cuts more deadwood to keep the alliance active. I also don't agree with Tora buying CODE shares, but he is one of the most effective at killing them and hurting them financially { , going for their freighters not just pods}.
Marmite is now a BRAND in highsec, built up over time and effort. You may not like Tora but his behind the scenes leadership and direction have maintained his alliance.

I don't think Tora is actually any type of competent PvPer. He's not a good leader. His version of "leading" is to sit in station all day, talk smack on the forums and in local, but at the end of the day make sure he was as risk-adverse as possible. I mean, since losing his Guardian to sue Abbott's wing on 11 January 2016, Tora's only shown up twice outside of station for kills, which were on 12 January. Seems once sue Abbott and Archetype were back to fighting him, he stayed docked.
Tora gets a little bit of peace since it appears he let the ar lapse, but if Archetype and What Squad ally in on another war, what will Tora do?
Marmite's brand recognition has been from the competent pilots who kept Marmite afloat. People like you, Fybs. And yet you left because, and I am QUOTING your reason here: you simply don't trust Tora's leadership to further your goals, nor do you expect he's a competent leader in tough times. In short, you don't trust Tora. Let that settle in (and everyone knows it. Tora has been raging about this fact in public for a bit.): you left, and yet you're...still defending him? Don't get me wrong, Tora's great at playing the metagame: hiring other mercs to protect him, talking smack on public channels, etc. But his intelligence networks are non-existent, at best, and at the end of the day, the people actively looking to fight him can prove they've been out fulfilling contracts and killing Marmites.
By the way: Tora really wants that Archetype Pilgrim pilot. He was salivating about it on comms last night. I wonder what he'd pay for the corpse... |

You miss the point whilst breaking confidences.
Leadership is not about pvp skills:
Its about sacrificing your pvp time to run the alliance.
Its about rebuilding, choosing your battles, talent spotting, recruiting, building relationships with other alliances, and keeping confidences.
This game is multidimensional and so is leadership.

Nitshe is a tora pet,
He's sacrificed his close friends, his top pvpers, his public view for money. It's all he ever does.
He only wants a green killboard at the end of the day and more money in his pocket but he's never earned it.
He lacks the abilities to lead, talks a ton but never atones for any of it, his members get the brunt cause he doesn't respect his player base or his roots. Marmite isn't about mercing, its about how tora can milk his pilots for isk at the end of the day.

I agree with much of what you have written here and it could be applied to all Alliance Leaders.
The same complaints about exploiting members was made about Sue also. Name one alliance you have been in Saeger that remunerated you well?
How do you resolve this issue of pay; Unionise more like the pirates of old, ask for shares or Poco's (held under alt corps).
The issue of green kill boards is my bugbear also. It does indicate you are risk adverse. However, It is a play-style that suits the majority of basic merc contracts. If you want large fleet pvp with an element of higher risk Dead Terrorists are your guys.
On the issue of nurturing the player base, understand you are a MERC and not a MILITIA, in a free-market you hired and fired on your merit.
I do agree with you about friends and sacrificing friendship. This is the strongest point you make. The true goals of Eve are the friendships and the new acquaintances' you meet on your journey here.
I hope Zero Threat reads your post and pays you what your worth. I do hope Tora reads and understands the importance of friendship.
