You should see it from another point. Not every eve player is a revolver hero coming from low sec and ready to kill noobs.
Many many guys and small gangs avoid targets because they don`t know if it-¦s a bait or not.
We saw that in null-, low sec and wormholes, again and again. In fact you can see more about your opponent as without using this tool. ;-)
I use it as a scout and we got more intel within seconds. I think I will release it in 1-2 weeks ;-) Just try it out.
But I need you for bug testing and improvements. We all love pvp and I would make it easier for us all ;-) |

The question you need to be asking is not 'is it bait?'. the question you need to be asking is 'how do I engage in a way so that I don't care when it turns out to be bait?'.
whether something is bait or not is completely irrelevant to the matter of if you should engage or not, it is only relevant to how you act throughout the engagement.

I understand your argument. But if you are solo flying you look and check targets more than one time to be sure not to die in your stratios or proteus...
This phaenomena of avoiding pvp, not loosing your ship in pvp is very present in the game.
Always keep in mind this is a tool which is checking chars within seconds with a smooth summary of information. It can make it easier to decide to attack someone or not. Eve is getting more and more baiting baiting and unfair pvp, this tool checks just for an unfair possibility of pvp.
And of course there is a comfortable component in it. The option to open evewho and zkillboard with one click. These pages load the correct data for the character/corp, you don-¦t need to enter a seperate search for it. |

Margareth Thatcher wrote:I understand your argument. But if you are solo flying you look and check targets more than one time to be sure not to die in your stratios or proteus... I really dont. Sure, I click 'show info' on the pilot in game and if it's a large corp that I've heard of (realistically there's maybe 5 groups in that category) I possibly don't engage in an armour close range ship but come back in a 100mn or tornado ect but im not going to NOT engage, that's just silly.
note that this is an entirely different debate to what ships you can engage. if im poking around in my stratios (my stealth ship of choice, accept no substitute) with no backup and run into 2 lokis sitting off a WH, well i'm not engaging that no matter who's flying them since I know i can't take them. on the other hand, if I run into a laser legion running a C2 site, there's no pilot in eve that I'm not engaging so any kind of 3rd party checks are completely irrelevant.

I was once not engaged while i was mining because my zkill showed that i had PvP'd in a sabre recently.
I am a rubbish pilot who was piloting a rubbish mining barge and a group were to scared to try and kill me because of the pvp ships in my kills/losses.
Mans greatest fear isn't the unknown, it's the stupidly elaborate and contrived ideas people get from looking at these 'intel' tools. Suddenly i went from being just a random pilot in system in a mining barge, to being some bad ass who will kill them all because i had a few kills in an interdictor.
Honestly these pilot checking tools are cancerous and make people so damned scared of their own shadows that they won't take a chance anywhere and avoid any form of pvp that doesn't including sitting at 0 on a high sec wormhole or other similar tactics.

What pvp checker tools are there? - I don-¦t know them. Again in fact, it is a tool to check chars and tells you what kind of a guy he is.
People are scared but why are they scared? Because of getting killed in unfair pvp 1:5 or 1:10 ?!??!?!?!
Regarding to the cyno story. It is not important where the cyno char is, it-¦s just important to know that he is one. And believe me, there are players that are not as skilled in pvp as you are. There are scouts of fleets, that check corps and guys in wormholes, yes you don-¦t have a local there. It-¦s a totally other warfare as low sec pvp...
Just enter the name of that guy and press search, what is so difficult on that??? If you attack or not decides not the tool, but the FC or the solo player... |

Yes, you also get a summary of ships what he is flying, what doctrines and ships of his fleet members. And of course how much they are
You cant be sure what he is flying in future, but you can see what he has done last summer. |

Ignore haters OP.
As long as your having fun developing the tool, thats all that really counts.
I'm sure somebody will use it.
Also... I can see this tool as being used by people wanting to bait others.. but not sure if those responding to the bait will bring a large overwhelming force. eg I see one guy at POS or on a WH... I want him to tackle my bait industrial... I use tool to check if he usually flys with 3-4 others or with gang of 12.
Its just another intel tool. like zkill or eve hunt etc etc..
OP UI looks good.

Just pvp and learn the hard (aka the fun) way. Remember what happened, act differently around PL in the future.
Tools like this are used by nullbears jerking off in their station trying to come up with excuses not to fight. Fighting is your pvp tool-set. I have cyno losses on almost all of my 9 characters and like.... I think i own one capital. My blops is currently dead. Experience is really the way to go.
As far as software development goes looks pretty dank fc. i like it. (i am a software memer too). looks like a fun project
as far as eve goes, tools like this hurt the game. stop caring, start fragging. JOIN R3D FIRE TODAY! |
