Remember I've only recently returned to eve.
So I'm on my way to stain and going through the HED gate, and there is a camp, surprise surprise. My prorator is gate cloaked and I make it past that camp all skippy. So second gate I find a HIC with a fat bubble all around the gate. Multi-gate camp, the best. I run into the wall, and divert 90 degrees as a reflex I didn't know I had, a few seconds later 3 ships arrive right on the same point I did. Nice, i slowboat to the gate and go through. empty system. joy. So I'm doing my little system evaluation because even if the system is empty there might be bubbles in the way. And the hic and friend come through and I watch the bubble wrap around me.
"Crap," I think, these guys are persistent. I chose an unlikely angle and mwd-cloak while I watch them rush to surround my last position. And suddenly my heart starts thumping hard, like I just overextended myself in a race. So I'm wondering why my heart was beating so hard, and will I be able to get past these guys. Finally I exit the bubble and warp to a ss.
I dunno, what it was. Been through a lot of gate camps and been through bubbles before, maybe it was the persistence this camp showed in following me. Usually once I get past the camp in a prorator or anathema the camp lets me go. Maybe it was because they had some skills and If I had been less attentive they would have gotten me. But my heart was pounding so hard it felt like it might be a prelude to a heart attack or something.

It's the hunters that are actually good at what they do that test your abilities as a blockade runner. If you win, you make the run and live. If you lose, well, you do not..
Escaping a good camp manned by good hunters makes you feel alive!
Here I used to have a sig of our old Camper in space. Now it is disregarded as being the wrong format.
Looking out the window I see one thing: Nothing wrong with the format of our Camper! Silly CCP......

As a side note: hit cloak first, THEN hit MWD. That way you have a smaller window where you can be targeted and/or show up on overview and you'll end up with a higher top speed at the end of the MWD cycle. |

Pfft, I've found Jita, while in a hauler/freighter more heat pounding than many of my 0.0 days.

You just had to make it personal!
I had an encounter like this recently too. They are kind of fun but there is always that moment when the MWD shuts off and you're just flying there and looking where people are going to try and see if you will make it lol. |

I always like fitting those Engine Thermal Shielding Rigs to my BRs simply because if gives a duration boost to MWDs, and you can easily coast of out most bubbles in a single pulse. A couple Nanos in the lows.. yeah.. pretty much a greased -up deaf guy.
I love camping gates for BRs. Most pilots will panic, and will usually try to go straight out of the bubble, which makes it easy to decloak them. The smart ones go off in a random direction, and it makes them much harder to catch. My hats always go off to the ballsy bastards who fly through the bubbles past the gate, as no one expects that!
Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

That was always a point of amusement flying WWII flightsims.
The real aircraft required a high degree of physical fitness and a fair amount of raw strength to fly (stick force to move the controls of a spitfire at 400mph was 73 lbs for example) which is quite at odds with your average flight simmer :D |

Its almost like the 'MWD/Cloak trick/hack/exploit/unfair to gatecampers waaaaa tactic' was intended alllll along....

My heart does this temporary stop then a hard THUMP before returning to normal beats sometimes. But I've never been diagnosed with any heart conditions. In grade school I had a heart monitor for a few days to check if my heart had any issues, everyone thought it was the coolest thing.
