While it has never been my pleasure to meet the parties in question, I have read about their exploits here on GalNet for some while. I can only hope that their...irrepressible nature does not change in the least, and that their lives together are as exciting as their lives in space have been.
And, to Mr. Blake: Please realize that while certain "fringe" groups continue to maintain their own little fantasies, the Amarr Empire recognizes the Minmatar Republic as a separate governmental entity. Please leave over your sad rants about the legality of marriage not performed in the Amarr tradition. If these two parties were part of the Amarr church, I could understand your insistence. However, you and Archbishop using this happy announcement to try and further your cause is, in the main, quite pathetic. Leave well enough alone, and be happy for them.
Besides, their nuptials may cause a lull in their destruction and confiscation of PIE property, which can only be a win for you...in the short run, at least.

My Farther once said to me that respect for the truth comes close to being the basis for all morality. (Something the Amarr needs to think about more but im sure there must be truth some where in their religious babblings)
Something cannot emerge from nothing. This is profound thinking if you understand how unstable the truth can be, so all I say is be true to your selfĘs and Eva please go gentle on him

So, having recently been to a funeral, I get to help celebrate a wedding (and I will be celebrating even if I am not there in person).
That seems appropriate.

Woooah, I'm off comms for a few days, and little Eva goes and gets hitched?!?
Well, good luck I guess, though I still think you should heed my warning, Eva.
Oh, and if you DO decide to go through with it anyway, I do hope you'll hold the ceremony AFTER I'm through with the Concord bueraucracy, otherwise I'll be very disappointed...

Erm, well, Mek can be very persuasive when he wants something... that's probably why I'm always out of beer. Besides, it's a definite step up from the ilk of the other offers I've been getting lately.
And don't worry, there's not a chance I'd have the ceremony without you there.

Well, I can only wish that it will turn out well in the end.
As for the amarrian, just contact the amarrian authorities and report him for harassment, possibly sexual in nature. The empire's laws and traditions tends to come down hard on such breaches of decorum and decent behaviour, no matter who it is targeted at.

As of 19:00 today, Evanda Char and myself are now officialy bound under the righteous act of marriage.
Many thanks to Father Goose for performing the ceremony and I wish to give my personal heartfelt thanks for all those who turned up to Hjoramold for the day.
Even Mr Blake managed to make an appearance but his efforts to disrupt this sanctioned marriage were expertly avoided by the Padre.
It is unfortunate that several of those invited were unable to attend, but it was a reasonably peaceful day and the knife dancing in the bar during the reception was a most interesting experience.
Again many thanks to all those who appeared. -=======- -=======- -=======- -=======-

Originally by: Rodj Blake Let's get one thing straight: this marriage will be a sham unless the "happy" couple have been through the appropriate inductions before hand and the ceremony is conducted by a properly ordained Amarrian priest.
Fortunatly Rodj, Republic law does not state anything about Amarrian religous zealots having anything to do with a Matari wedding. Also, I actually have an ordained Amarrian priest within my own corporation who I believe would have no problem conducting the ceremony if I requested it.
But you are an unenlightened heathen. Such a ceremony might be considered a heretical travesty.
It *might* be, in Amarran space. Fortunately, those considerations don't really apply outside of territory that the Amarrans have managed to hold. (I would have said "claim," but that would include the entirety of the known universe... and anything potentially reachable outside of it in the next few centuries.)
I wonder if I should even mention the recent addition of a sister-wife to my marriage, or if the mere thought of it would cause Mr. Blake to have an apoplectic fit.
Bleh, sorry for babbling about my own happiness on this wondrous event. Congratulations to the happy couple, and may your marriage outlast the very stars.

Day... well, I guess 1 now... Day 1 of my new life
The Wedding
Harkin's Gate, Hjoramold
Big day, big day... A thousand and one things to do - some to do with the war, some to do with business, some to do with getting married which events seem to be doing their damnedest to get in the way of... And I can't get anything done because of this huge grin that some maniac seems to have pasted to my face while I was asleep.
After ducking through a gatecamp that had the nerve to be between me and the ceremony, drinking some champagne, deciphering the correct quadratic formula for fastening the dress and working out which is the arm hole and which is the head hole, drinking some more champagne, herding sereval cats... I mean guests... into the right ships, the right system, and the right location, I finally have the chance to catch my breath and drink some champagne.
Nervous? No, I'm not nervous. Why would I be nervous? Just because I have all the normal bridal worries:
Will the groom show up? Will someone challenge me for him? Will Lomong approve? Will Unclue Ulfrith get horribly drunk and start hitting on my friends? Will Biggus Tankus ever actually get here? Does my bum look big in this? Will PIE slaughter all my guests and then ransack the buffet?
...
Will I ever get there as it's 350 km and my microwarp drive doesn't work?
Well, it's always nice to have a bonus problem to weigh you down.
There are some sights which, in life, you should never have to witness. You see, the Lone Gunmen are a very special corp within EM. We don't bring them out very often in the war because the rest of us would like to have a go. Otherwise, we just get demoted to carrying their loot. They are a weapon, precise and deadly as a scalpel. A scalpel being wielded by a poorly-coordinated, violent and very angry maniac on PCP. Probably wearing a t-shirt with a smiley face on it. He's probably very nice to his mother, though... You get the idea.
Saphros, chief of security from LGM, is leading a conga line. It's just... so... wrong.
While I try to work out whether it's viable to get out and push my Firetail into place (insert fairly lurid invective directed at deadspace pockets here), Father Goose gets started with the proceedings.
Father Goose > Shall we get this ceremony started?
Meklon > At your leisure padre.
Father Goose > As a note to those who may wish to get a head start on the Gallentean post-ceremonial "Rites of Orgy", please proceed immediately to Arkie's in the Inder system.
Anthro be > I knew being Gallente was a good choice
Rodj Blake > Disgusting
Did I forget to mention? We got a free "bonus" guest. I can hear Mek trying to choke down a laugh while Else coughs disapprovingly.
Father Goose > Dearly beloved, friends, acquaintances, enemies, and other persons who may have a vested interest in these proceedings, it is my honor and greatest privilege as an Amarrian Priest, to join with you gathered here today, to witness the joining of this Man and this Woman in the bonds of Holy Matrimony before God Almighty and Her followers.
Father Goose > Some may say, that this marriage, between this Caldari Man, and this Matari Woman, cannot take place without an Amarrian properly removing the brides virginity...
What??!!
Father Goose > But, say I, it shall take place, and be true, not only because I wish to keep my *******, but likely Meklon has already been there.
I giggle. Meklon grins. Khalyn laughs. 3ll3 smirks. Pers s******s. Rodj fumes.
Well, it's true. But not with this clone - I've been saving it for a special occasion.
Actually, I've been saving it to put Snake implants in, but this'll do as a close second.
Did I just say that out loud? Hey, look over there! A distraction!

Part 2
Heh. Moving swiftly on...
Father Goose > These two vibrant and lively individuals, brought together through the winding threads of fate, will through Marriage share a destiny many people can only dream of.
And so it shall be, that this Marriage brings us together, today.
Marriage, that blessed arrangement, that dream within a dream.
That dream where two souls meet and find love. True love, which will follow you through all your days, even as the tapestry of the universe itself unravels.
There's a pause. I look around, wondering if I'm supposed to do something now.
The pause continues.
Man, that's one big pause.
OK, I'm pretty sure it's me. I should be doing something.
I wonder what?
I'd better shoot someone. That's usually what I'm supposed to be doing.
Sounds of rummaging and leafing eventually tell me that Father Goose has lost his page. I grin at Mek, blushing like an Amarrian shopping for low slot modules.
Father Goose > As in the day's of generations gone past, I must ask those assembled, is there any person here who in desire of Holy Wedlock would challenge either of these betrothed for the hand of the other?
Father Goose > Going once...
Rodj Blake > This wedding is a sham!
Ah, I knew there was a reason he was here.
Father Goose > Going twice...
Rodj Blake > I object to it!
Arnulf Ogunkoya > Shhh!
Rodj Blake > It is a blasphemous mockery of a sham of a wedding!
Ezekial Alexander > Marriage is just a word, much like tolerance is just a word to many Amarrians
Kalahari Wayrest > Its ok, the Father said 'person'...
Rodj Blake > And no permission for it has been granted from the slaves owner!
Ysolde Xen > > That would require either party being a slave, Rodj.
Evanda Char > So does Rodj want to fight me for Mek's hand?
Morjeran > Anyone not atending withiin range shall not speak or be disgraced for ever!
Rodj Blake > I am within range, thank you.
Else chokes down laughter. Father is in his stride, though, and not letting anything stop him.
Father Goose > Objections noted, and denied. We will continue as you are not challenging for marriage... To continue....
EVANDA CHAR - Daughter of Matari, Blessed Child of EVE, do you take Meklon, Son of Caldari, to be your Husband, each of you to be bound to the other until death do you part?
Oops. That grin is back, yet for some strange reason I also seem to be getting a little teary around the eye area.
Evanda Char > I do.
I hope there wasn't any suspense about what was going to happen there. It should'a been pretty obvious.
Father Goose > MEKLON - Son of Caldari, do you take Evanda Char, Daughter of Matari, Blessed Child of EVE, to be your Wife, each of you to be bound to the other until death do you part?
Mek grins, pausing for a few seconds while looking me in the eyes. He has a nice touch with things like that.
Meklon > Hmm...
OK, that "Hmm", he is going to pay for.
At length.
Meklon > A resounding "I do", Padre.
Father Goose > Then, by the powers vested in me by God and Church, I now pronounce you Man and Wife. May your honored ancestors upon whose space we fly look kindly upon this union.
Meklon, when you both dock you may kiss the Bride.
Thus this marriage begins, let us all celebrate.
Last one to Arkie's has to be the towel boy!
And then the fireworks begin, cruise missiles and torps arcing into the air, Eze even self-destructing his Amarr shuttle to incinerate the Pax in its hold in celebration. The congratulations flock in, leaving me barely time to say "thank you" in between them.
And that's it. This is the first moment of my life as Mrs...
...
What the hell is Meklon's last name, anyway?
