How exactly is the chance for ECM to jam computed, cumulative or per module?
For example, lets say the jammer has 5 modules, each of which has a chance to jam of 20%
The modules can be activated simultaneously by stacking them and then pressing ALT-F1 or whatever, or they can be fired individually. So...
Let's say you activate only one, and it fails, then activate a second on the same target, I assume that second activation has the same 20% chance, so you are just rolling the dice again.
Now, what if you stack the modules and activate them all at the same time? Does EVE just roll the dice 6 times in a row, or does it add the chances together and make it 5 x 20% = 100% chanced to jam? |

How does ECM work? Is located about the middle of site. The mathematically equations are there.

Yes, I had read that. The problem is that the sentence "if you use multiple jammers" is ambiguous.
Does that mean you have to stack the jammers to get the multiple jammers equation?
Chance to Jam = (1 -(1 - Your ECM Strength / Target's Sensor Strength ) ^ The number of jammers of this strength)*100%
Or, does it mean I just have to activate multiple jammers on the same target at any time?

By multiple jammers, they mean having more than one of those modules.
In other words, if you have four White Noise Generators and activate them all at the same time "throw all of our jammers at once (Scenario 2)", then you get the exponential equation.

Yes you have to stack the multiple jammers all onto the same target at the same time for that equation to apply. |
