Hi all,
I know nobody likes getting popped and everything but it is getting downright ridiculous the number of people ctrl q'ing. I was in my Sabre tonight and 6 people in a row, shuttles, haulers, interceptors all ctrl q'd when they came in and saw they were in a bubble. I mean, one or two here and there, maybe, but for me, tonight that was 6/7ths of the people. I am indifferent on warp to zero but putting warp to zero together with ctrl q makes for nearly untouchable people if they are willing to use this exploit - and when the bulk of the population is using it, it seems to be an exploit to me.
Anyway, looking forward to something to fix this - like as in if you crash to desktop (which this emergency warp is supposed to save you from, well tough). I don't know about most but I think I have only ever ctd'd about 3 times in a year. If I lose 3 ships to that a year it would be preferable to having everyone just using this to avoid combat. No combat, no eve.
Only solution I can think of - get bookmarks at the emergency drop off point above every gate - then when you see it you might be able to warp to where the wuss went to and kill his empty ship. Appropriate punishment for gutless dogs.
Regards,

The DEVs don't care. They have refused to even acknowledge that this is an issue even though people have been complaining about it for almost a year now.
There are some very simple fixes that can be put in place to resolve the issue, but it is simply being ignored.
Remember the fix for instas was simple, elegant, could not have taken long to implement, did not break the game and was blatantly obvious. However it took two years of *****ing and moaning about them before anything was changed. Even then it was because instas were causing a massive performance problem and nothing to do with broken gameplay.

So we need to go and make all these gate bookmarks - except unlike old instas, all 1mm above gates. Then we get back to bookmark overload and then problem gets fixed?
And I finally got someone to stick around and fight - unfortunately a 3 gyrostabbed battlecruiser. I had to run to get out of that one! But at least I didn't ctrl-q.

before the 15 minute agression timer was there, ppl could just log of whens crambled and disappear within 1-2mins.
took the devs quiete some time to come up with thze agression time, and all the rambling on the forums didnt make em come up faster with a solution unfortunately.
so id just wait, maybe the devs are playin in a part of the universe where the ctrl-q isnt that awful much used and its just a matter of time til itll b so annoying there too ;) - Purple Conquered The World, We the Universe.

Ohnoes not knowing what DEVs have said ftl
Oveur stated that ctrl+q will be worked about, in the near future they got a solution for it. So before you state anything, actually know what you're saying before making stupid arguments. --------

If I had a penny for everyone of these threads ..................
Yea its not nice, but hey EVE not nice( or so I'm told).
logoffski moaners = carebears(in there own way).
It's not nice, I don't like it, but the incessant whining about it is getting worse than the actuall people who commit the logoffski.
PLEASE CAN WE HAVE A TEMPLATE FOR THIS OR BETTER STILL A SECTION ON THE FORUM THAT SAYS SOMETHING LIKE " I DIDN'T GET MY GANK BECAUSE OF LOGOFFSKI WHINE PART OF THE FORUM "
Seriously though 'something has to be done' WE KNOW. You don't have to tell us eighteen quadrillion times a week.

I feel confident that it will get tweaked further to make logouts a less useful escape. When? and How well? though, that I have less confidence in. * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

uhhh isent the real problem that there is no counter from a insta-death no matter wtf your flying / setup / sp bubble camp?
Warp into one by accident (it happens .. were all human ya know) and poof your dead no matter what. No hope in hell of escape. All you can do is wait to die ... or just hit ctrl-q.
Ctrl-q isent the problem ... death bubble camps are IMHO

So, that discussion is now finished, let the thread be free of whining people unable to deal with being ganked in lieu of having brains.

Simply declaring a discussion "finished" because you disagree with one viewpoint does not quell the disagreements.
I might as well proclaim that I have decided that there is nothing wrong with logoff tactics and that the forum must from this point on be free of the continual, irritating, pointless whining like children coming out of the gatecamping camp.

Accidents have consequences like anything else. If accidents aren't a fair way to get killed, what is? I'm sorry that you feel everyone needs to ask your permission to shoot at you, but there is a reason EVE doesn't have a PVP flag.
Also, "No chance" is just a pessimistic attitude, and if you don't ever try you will never get any better at the game.

Funny thing is, the more you post and whine about it the more people will know about it and are going to do it I'd been wondering "hmmm what's the best way to escape the bubble trap..." Thanks to the endless postings that question has been answered. No escape from bubbles is just as unfair as logging out so if they fix logging then bubbles need to be nerfed somehow as well.

Yes the control q is getting silly.
Just re-adjust your squad configuration to include fast locks, damage and keep a probe scanning ship around (fitted to tackle). You'll get their ships. Also I have been looking to try a SB set up to get the pods too. Not sure if that will work but will see if it does.
However if they log on an alt not much you can do.

Yes, it takes time to get a new ship, but there's always 0.5-->1.0. The only place for bubbles is 0.0, if you're not ready to lose a ship, don't go to 0.0. You can't just go into lawless lands expecting it to be easy and consequence free.

The solution is simple. Stop ganking at gates. Go out there and earn your kills The right way. In other games they call that Load Killing. Its f'n lame and im gonna make it a point to find gate camps and logoff just to tick you guys off!

See, if i were to sit at a planet in a busy system, i don't think anyone will come by. The only time i've gatecamped in 0.0 is solo in my dictor. It's the most boring thing to do in eve. Whenever in gangs, we go around and attempt to fight people but we'll be lucky to fight in a 1:1 ratio, it's more like 3:1 against us, gotta love it! NPC'rs in 0.0 will also log the second a tackler warps to the belt, (some, not all) which is a joke! Atleast take it with a little sportsmanship instead of just pressing the red X. I've been in 0.0 where when we warped to a gate where a t1 cruiser just jumped in and logs immediately.
also, i see a lot of people promoting ctrl-q to say that "OMG you ruin my fun!" but think of it this way, i spend the time to assemble a group to gate camp, anchor bubbles, find a location and than you come in and are totally disregarding this. Consider it you ruining my fun everytime you log off in a bubble.

Why don't they just give you people an "I win" button, you just need to target somebody, push it, and they get blown up and pod killed.
That's all you want and that's all you're whining about anyway.

The only reason it has become an epidemic is because of all the yelling on the forums about it. Shouting about it only brings people's attention to it which in turn increases the number of people using it.
I can imagine that it's very, very hard for CCP to implement a 'fix' for it because there is no real way to tell a logoffski apart from a legitimate CTD or internet failure. If the agro timer is kick-started by Ctrl + Q being pressed then people will start to pull the cable from their router.
I am against using Ctrl + Q to escape ship destruction but I understand CCP's dilemma in finding a suitable way to stop it. ------------ Combat miner |

In some cases it's fair. The person he was responding to made a silly, exteme statement: "uhhh isent the real problem that there is no counter from a insta-death no matter wtf your flying / setup / sp bubble camp?"
Yeah, right. Even if you think gatecamps are too dangerous or not great gameplay, do we really need to spend the time dismantling something as absurd as that statement? Should we also indulge somebody who says, "Gates in 0.0 were never meant to be dangerous"?
