So the crucible patch when it first came out fixed the intel graphic card failure, however since the 1.0.2 patch it has caused this problem to happen again...
Problem: Jump gate / undock = Gfx card to fail and black screens and freezes then comes back. |

YES!!!! OMG I am having the same issue, I was so happy when Crucible fixed the problem, and I have had a headache all day since the 1.02 patch seems to have messed everything up again!!! Anyway, I sent a bug report, but I will post here my system specs. The game was running like a charm after Crucible, but now it's UGH again...

Well, they did say they were releasing a hotfix patch tomorrow that should fix various issues, including localized client issues... which I am knocking on wood, but I would say at this point I am not optimistic they are even aware of this issue (I hope I'm wrong, but it's one of those gut feelings.) Anyway, it did feel good to be back to EVE, but I may cancel my sub once again if they don't fix this, so let's see what happens after Downtime... Anyone want to place ISK bets as to whether the patch will address the issue? |

Wait, does that mean the graphics calculations are done on the CPU and its memory? Hum, that's not the best set up if you have an i3, and plan to game a lot. Expect it to be pretty slow to begin with and running it with those setting will only make it worse.
Anisotropic filtering should be disabled. Same for vertical sync which, i found, usually makes no visual differences, other than using your computer's ressources a lot. Since they updated the HDR resolutions of the space bg, you might want to turn it off as well. It will be ugly, but might help saving on the RAM's speed. Remember, your driver is located on the same memory as your graphics stuff, unlike a dedicated GPU card. If (it can even be for only a fraction of a seconds) when needed, your CPU don't have access to the driver loaded in memory (cause this one is used by another CPU core for graph calculations), it will be tagged as not responsive by windows and will force it to reload that driver. Of course in the mean time your driver is off, it also shuts down graphics calculations.
Drivers are needed for the whole programs to work with the hardware. If it goes down, it has to be reload, thus why the screen goes black (graphic driver and its underlying hardware is used to display anything on the screen).
Now, i'm not a programmer so i don't know what the dev could do to optimize the game to work on imbedded video chipsets so it doesn't crash or goes unresponsive, but trying to reduce the load of graphics by lowering the graphics should help if what i said is what's happenning. I might be wrong of course. I'm not a programmer. I just have a bit of study in computer support. |

I'm in the same boat. Crucible amazingly solved the issue that started around Incarna for me, only for it to return with the latest patch.
Usually, I play a youtube vid in the background so I can listen to some tunes while I play. Everytime I undock or use a stargate, the screen blacks out for a few seconds and the vid crashes. No matter how low I set my graphics setting, or how high, the issue persists. I'm not running EVE on any insane gaming computer, but I've played apparently more advanced games than this without issue.
Right now it's not a big deal. I'm mostly screwing around in high-sec for a while, but I dont want to risk being caught with my pants down in low/null-sec with this problem. |

I can only say I was happy with my embedded Intel GFX card with my laptop when Crucible came out but now with 1.0.2 patch that annoying GFX driver crashing (at least on my laptop with Windows 7) happens again.
CCP, please figure out what you changed in between Crucible 1.0.0 and 1.0.2 to bring that annoying bug/feature back. |

I will be the first to admit my computer isn't anything great for gaming. However, Crucible 1.0.0 fixed the problem completely, and the game was playable, and in fact it played beautifully with what I'd call "middle of the road" graphics settings. 1.0.2 brought the problem back, and the latest hotfix patch did NOT fix it. I'm pretty much deciding I'm not going to renew at the end of the month, as it's simply very disheartening to see this problem come back AFTER it is fixed. I will of course recheck these forums daily, and try any reasonable suggestions in an attempt to fix the problem, but so far none of have been successful. I hope CCP is at least aware of this, but like I said earlier, I doubt it. However, I would be thrilled to be proven wrong.
I of course also feel stupid for giving my friend the new 60 day free trial after I was going on and on about how awesome the latest expansion was (in part I was thrilled cause they fixed the problem), so I guess I was foolish to stick my neck out for CCP. |

I am currently trying to reproduce this issue in-house but I need your help.
I would like to ask you all to go in game on TQ and file a bug report by pressing F12 (look at the bottom for the 'Bug Report' button). Fill the report in with as much information as you can, it would also be extremely helpful if you could run logserver and attach the log file to the bug report next time you experience these issues.
You can find instructions on how to do this from: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Bug_reporting#Getting_a_logserver_log

Alright, I submitted the bug report as you instructed. Also, I submitted a bug report yesterday as well, the ID of which is 122980 which does have a clear screenshot of the issue. Also I ran logserver, and I jumped about 3 or 4 times and had the bug occur. I didn't know how to post the results of the logserver in my bug report, so if you can inform me as to how to do so, that would be excellent.
Also, I am glad I have been proven wrong and that the devs are working to resolve the issue. I really do want to help you get to the bottom of this! |

As the common theme seems to be that Crucible 1.0.2 is the problem, is it possible to load up an Eve client with Crucible 1.0.0 where the problem seemed to be fixed and run a logserver report under those conditions while gate jumping? maybe something different is happening when gate jumping between different versions? Just a hypothesis. Unfortunately, I don't have the means to run TQ in a previous version, so I can't test it myself. (Unless I do and I'm just not aware of it, in which case please explain how one could do that..) |

Just posted my bug report - Hopefully I did it right. I echo what was being said about the new patch - When Crucible was launched it was working perfect - Great graphics and everything. With the new update it went back to the old way of the graphic card recovering after each gatejump. I would assume something was changed with the new patch as well. Would love to have my old version back. |

God people like you are annoying. The game runs fine on the card at 60 fps on all high settings. What's the purpose of you coming in here knocking something you know nothing about? Yes the visuals are nice in this game but they aren't anything special or new. These onboard cards are more than capable of running most newer games just fine.
You don't have to pay 500 dollars for a graphics card to play a video game, despite popular belief. This is clearly a problem with the game, not the card.
Edit: Just to add, I also submitted a bug report as soon as I noticed this. It also appears to be happening when I first launch the game, not just when undocking/jumping. |

I'll say that Intel cards aren't the greatest, but I mean, it'll work, and if I could have frapsed the video of it running like a charm I would have. Anyway, I think that in Sassums post he likely means well, but I would just say ignore it as it is clear he doesn't know what he is talking about in this specific case. However, this is also a forum within an MMO and there are of course Trolls, so if it's not productive, just ignore it I'll say. (which is why I rarely post here)
Anyway, I will be logging on to EVE shortly and sending everyone who posted here with an issue a quick eve mail to please post to the bug report and follow the directions as described by CCP Vertex so we can get this the bottom of this and get back to playing the game. |
