So I'm using Evemon to work up a skill path and it suggests that I add a handful of learning skills to speed things up. I do, and start traning. I pick up Analytical Mind and Iron Will, then I get to the point where it's time to buy eidetic memory and I freak out because it's over 4 million! I've been playing less than a week and only have a frigate plus about 2 million. So I look at Clarity, and it's 4 millsion as well!
So do people just wait until they're filthy rich before buying these skills or are there other ways to get them? |

You'll have the moolah in no time :). Experiment with different ways of making isk - you'd be surprised. :)

You need to wait until you're "filthy rich," but it only takes a couple hours of mining in high sec to pay for each advanced learning skill you want.

They are just suggestions.
If you can't afford the skills, you can't afford them. You aren't required to buy them, but I would suggest you work toward affording them. They really do reduce training by quite a bit.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll wait until I get my cruiser and then maybe go after them. |

When i started the game there was no way to make 2 million in less then a week. The skills are also called ADVANCED learning skills. How about playing the game step by step. On a sidenote, you will get a heartache if you see what you have to pay for a Freighter Skill

Edited by: Pestachi0 on 28/01/2007 15:16:06 I made about 500k an hour using a hauler, a mining frig & a jetcan and thats just on scordite in a 0.9.
If you use the right cruiser you can probably fit anything up to 5 miner IIs - dont feel obliged to learn mining specific skills (like mining barge), cruisers rock and you can just refit your PvE cruiser.

One of the things that can really boost your moneymaking early on is rushing to learn the skills to use a salvager module. With a little luck, even a level 1 mission can net you over a million ISK in salvage (common circuits can be sold for 100,000 isk without too much trouble).
