All free. Use them. Warm inner glow.
Ensure your firewall and antivirus have exceptions letting EvE through. Never had a problem with EvE messing up my computer. As was said, if EvE was causing players computer problems the whining, wailing, and gnashing of teeth on here would be truly epic.

For new launcher there is some gnashing and stuff. People looked at it and some think its unsafe to use.

Personally, the first thing I would do is to uninstall McAffee. But that's just me.
P.S.: I know that's not related to your actual problem, I just dislike McAffee.
Edit: does that ad in the second screenshot say "Powered by Optimum?" Kinda hard to tell; but that might be something worth googling. |

Can the OP issue have something to do with this? Its what I was writing about earlier.

If my system has been this badly infected from playing EVE for two days this is going to be an extremely short lived subscription & I would expect reimbursement of the subscription. I sincerely hope this is not the case.
Does anyone know what these symptoms might be the reaction to? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Its funny how you immediately put blame on Eve despite clearly having no idea what you are talking about. Maybe you should reconsider dling all that porn. I'm willing to bet that's the source of your malware. |

OP, if the malware is still affecting the launcher then you haven't got rid of it entirely. Go through the removal instructions you were linked to earlier and try again, some of them can be quite insidious.

If so... that could be the culprit. The in-game browser has terribad built-in protection.
Restart your computer in Safe Mode (without connections) and... - delete all temp files in your computer which include, but are not limited to; cookies, dlls, browsing history, etc - run your anti-virus - clean up your registry - run a system defragmentation.
If all else fails... go nuclear and reformat the harddrive. Try not to be an idiot, mmkay? This qualifies as the dumbest advice I've ever seen on the internet. Try to know what you're talking about before you advise someone to reformat a drive. I'd report this post, but I don't think there's a Maxi-Ignoramous category...maybe this particular case should inspire a new category. OP - Before you accuse a tried and true company of historical significance (actually could wipe out a boot.ini with one blow) in the annals of gaming, see if you recall installing some neat little third party application all the cool kids use, that is gracious enough to wrap half a dozen other drive kidnapping applications within itself then happily plant the package on your "pristine" drive. L2Use Your Machine. I haven't, I checked all of my recently installed programs & I run two anti-virus systems. I do not torrent, visit the deep web (on this machine anyway), or do anything extraordinary outside of gaming or editing on this device. The possibility of the less than efficient in-game browser as the culprit seems to be the most plausible & I am solidifying my diagnosis as such. It was the game's fault. Your smarmy & utterly annoying retorts are unwelcome & unbecoming. Either contribute or do not respond. Well, not to repeat myself...again...it's not your in game browser. Also, we're discussing a topic here (for the benefit of more people than the two of us) not just YOU. Smarmy....that's funny. Smarmy. Sometimes people don't like what one might have to say. I can live with that. When you finally get to the bottom of your problem, or IF you do, I'm sure you'll be back with apologies all around since YOU are certainly not SMARMY. Nooooo. You're all kinds of well-heeled, cultured and POLITE, RIGHT? (Don't worry. I won't hold my breath.)

Pretty much every guide and antivirus itself when you install them tells you not to do this as they have a high chance of disrupting each others operation. I think you deserve just about any viruses and malware you get if you can't follow this basic rule.
Anyway, if EVE truly was the culprit this thread would be a threadnought as everyone else would have the exact same problem. With 99% certainty the PEBKAC. |

Could be related. I do not know why the launcher would act as a webpage, that seems defective. |

Be careful what you click in Fleet/Local chat. The IGB isn't going to catch all that nasty stuff that a proper browser will protect you from. CCP is aware it's bad and they want to remove it but are just waiting for the functionality to be properly replaced. In the meantime, it's up to us to use it responsibly. It's not the browser giving you the virus, it's whatever link you clicked.
Assuming that was actually the cause. And yeah, if it's a brand new machine the easiest way to be sure is usually to wipe it.
One other thought, did you download any third party programs? EFT in particular uses a nasty download site with a lot of fake download buttons and potential for adware etc. I always use the alternative mirror link because it's much less shady.

The launcher having a browser component isn't unusual, pretty much every game launcher that includes an RSS feed and promo material from the devs, like the videos you get in the Eve launcher, has one from necessity. You might want to take a look at your hosts file too.
