A collection of thoughts I've had to improve various aspects of Eve.

Maybe you could also post them here.

ok, the formatting is nicer on the google doc
New Player Experience Tutorial Re-add the tutorial, the game needs to show new players basic game mechanics and the opportunities interface is not intuitive. Basic skills:
movement
- approach, align, orbit, warp
- manual piloting
- session changes
combat mechanics
- basic locking and shooting
- applied DPS
- range
- tracking
- falloff
- aggression mechanics
- ewar
Fitting
- fitting for a role
- avoid dual tanking
- active/buffer
- armor/shield
- weapon choice
- diminishing returns
Mining/Industry Market Skill Training
Some of those and more advanced skills could be shown through video in the IGB, that would require the IGB to be updated to play video. The training videos wouldnGÇÖt even have to be made by CCP, they could be player made. Have a contest where the best player made video would receive a plex or something.
Balance Assault Frigs Currently assault frigs are simply obsolete with the addition of T3Ds. Both ships fill the same role and the T3D is simply way better at it. The price increase of the T3Ds has helped a bit but to most people who have been around for more than a few years anything under 100 mil isk is cheap.
One of the larger problems of the assault frigs is their mobility, they move like a cruiser. Reduce their mass by 10-15% and increase speed by about the same. Some turret based ships may need a tracking bonus to ensure they arenGÇÖt completely useless in applying damage.
T3Ds Add skill point loss as with T3 Cruisers. Maybe 10% of the sp of the current skill level would be lost. That would be about a day of training off remap at level 5. This would allow them to stay a powerful ship but discourage people from spamming them for every situation.
T3 Cruisers As T3s are intended to fully customizable ships remove the rig slots to allow them to actually accomplish that goal. Slightly increase some of the bonuses on the subsystems to partially compensate, there should be some ehp drop. IGÇÖd aim for around 120k ehp for a reasonable fleet fit compared to the current 170k ehp.
Move the command subsystem to the offensive slot. This allows for command T3s to actually come on grid.
Command Ships Change the command ship skill to only require Warfare Link Specialist 4 but add the 2 leadership skills to the hull requirement that the specific hull is bonused towards. For example a Sleipnir would require skirmish and siege 5 but not the other 2. Sov The biggest complaint about the sov system is that it is boring. This is because it is essentially a mining mechanic targeted at a combat/PvP audience. The main group who likes the current sov system is the group who enjoy trolling sov holders but have no intention of holding sov for themselves. The proposed mechanic for Citadels seems to solve most of the problems. Keep vulnerability windows Change the entosis capture to a capped DPS reinforce remove the capture nodes (worst part of the whole system imo) The part of the entosis system I like is the concept of ensuring grid control before capturing the structure. To keep this part in the new system allow entosis modules to alter the DPS cap. A defending entosis would lower the max DPS and an attacking entosis would raise it. These should be allowed to stack. If an alliance chooses not to defend a structure the attackers should be able to easily take it. However attackers should not be able to drop unsupported supers and titans to simply grind it down regardless of what the defenders try to do in subcaps, since supers and titans can only be built in sov allowing that strongly biases established sov holders over newcomers.
PvE Null Sec *While this is directed at null it could be applied to low sec sites as well to make low sec good outside of FW space. Group PvE PvE is fairly boring, doubly so alone. Allow sites to dynamically increase spawns based on the number of players in the site. It should probably start with maybe a minimum of 5 players expected in the site. Would need some mechanic to avoid abuse from carrier ratting to clear the site with less than the expected number.
Dynamic Sites Having the exact same site spawn every time is a very boring mechanic and allows for a huge amount of min/maxing. Each wave should respond to what happened in the previous wave. Such as if you were using mainly EM damage against them they would alter their resist profile against EM more the next wave or if you were gimmick tanked for explosive they wouldnGÇÖt bring explosive damage the next wave. If you were using mainly close range weapons they would bring more long range rats or the other way around. Perhaps variable spawn locations as well. This would make it feel more like a real situation rather than grinding a site over and over.
High Sec Incursions The payouts on these really need to be nerfed. The completely throw the risk vs reward idea out the window by providing a risk free isk printing service. Force the higher payout PvE to low/null, wormholes are already good for pve.
High Sec War Dec Trolling Wars are a necessary part of Eve and have many legitimate uses. However groups who spam war decs to every corp they can find are abusing the system. Add an exponentially increasing cost to declare the war based on the number of offensive wars. This would still allow for focused wars over a specific target such as high sec structures or other disputes. |

I like alot of these good work man.
This is one of the hardest lessons for humans to learn. We cannot admit that things might be neither good nor evil, neither cruel nor kind, but simply callous GÇô indifferent to all suffering, lacking all purpose.
