Edited by: Tisiphone Actual on 31/01/2007 04:01:42 Sent - 12/9/2006 5:47:00 AM As a young character I blew almost my entire networth on a original idea involving a long range plan. Just as it was starting to pay off, CCP yanked the carpet out from underneath me. Its hard to act like the in game economy is real if it is subject to arbitrary changes like "poof, snowballs can't be sold". This is a critical window for this item and even my questions aren't being answered.
Sent - 12/15/2006 3:00:00 PM I have been waiting more than two weeks with out acknowledgement this petition has even been looked at.
Sent - 12/22/2006 1:23:00 PM Hi,
If you feel game mechanics are defected please submit a bug report through http://bugs.eve-online.com/newbugreport.asp
Sent - 12/23/2006 6:53:00 AM I have waited 4 weeks to hear you tell me to file a bug report? If there is a reason you won't let me sell snow balls then why wont you just explain it? I am serious about having thought this whole plan out and biding my time, and it was working, then with out any warning you have arbitrarily taken away my abliity to sell my stock.
I know things can change in the interest of keeping the game fun. I am used to my dones changing size, skills suddenly changing effects and ships being nerfed but this feels like someone couldn't be bothered to maintain a database and that makes it all too obvious this is just a game. I thought I was being a genuis seeing how this commodity would pay off over time and was willing to risk a lot to see it through. I thought the eve universe was subtle and deep.
I have been playing a year and a half and with all the things I have seen and been through, this is only the second time I have seriously considered ending my subscription.
Hi,
The Secure Commerce Commission (http://www.eve-online.com/corporations/c_1000132.asp) is responsible for registering and unregistering items on the market. Bureaucracy is always slow and messy.
I deeply apologize for the inconvenience and the late reply. I might add that these items of yours should be like whiskey, only get better (and more expensive) with age :)
Thank you for your patience and I hope you will be successful in your business ventures in the future.
Sent - 1/21/2007 12:19:00 PM Ok. Now I have waited another month.
Sent - 1/21/2007 2:16:00 PM Hi
You should be able to trade them to other players or sell them through the contracts system.
Best regards, Senior GM Gusto The EVE Online Customer Support Team
Sent - 1/21/2007 8:47:00 PM Putting aside for the moment that limitng Snowballs to contract only sales makes the transfer of my inventory so slow that its probably not worth bothering, I will say that I did attempt that 2 months ago before I wrote this bug up. The reason I escalated this to a petion is because when I try to search for Snowball acutions already in place I can't search for them.
Unfortunately we at Customer Support, are not able discuss or make any decisions in relations to game design or any of the changes made in the Revelation expansion. We therefore ask you to please post your concerns on the EVE forums for further discussion, as members of the Dev team constantly monitor the forums to get feedback.
Sent - 1/23/2007 12:14:00 PM I was directed here by one of your GM's who told me "rest assured like fine scotch your snowballs will only increase in value with time". I am reported a bug that I can't sell an item in your data base. Now after 2 months you are telling me -- its a design decision -- I am supposed to trash the first 20 million I ever invested? -- </i>And that its not your problem because you only work at a place called Customer support?</i>
Sent - 1/24/2007 7:19:00 AM Hi,
You are correct that they are one of the many items that can not be searched for via contracts, and that is one reason why you were asked to file a bug report.
Then they melted. I am an idiot for playing along.

What drives me insane is that there's nothing new about this "exploit" they are claiming. People have been doing this since December 25th, 2005. I lost 50mil in snowballs I had been shooting corpies with. ---- AUS Corp Lead Megalomanic |

Snowballs were never meant to be tradeable items. They've been nothing more than a X-mas gift.
A lot of people speculated on them to be becoming rare and expensive. A lot of people got burned. __________________________________________________________

Although still in the game, snowball launchers and snowballs have had their descriptions changed and can no longer be used. They never have been, and still aren't reprocessable even with the tantalizing description of the launcher. They are now totally worthless unless you collect them, or want to speculate that they will someday be reactivated or perhaps become reprocessable.
IMO Reprocessable odds = slim Reactivate odds = none ___________________________________________ Watch for the Squaredeal Enterprises IPO in the coming months. |
