The February release has been deployed on February 9th during a regular downtime. Please use this thread for general feedback and discussions.
By far the most important feature of this release is the ability to trade skill points between player characters with the help of Skill Extractors and Skill Injectors. We also see a new default camera (the classic camera is of course still available and can be activated in the game settings menu), visual improvements and a good amount of Quality of Life features. The release contains also bug fixes and the experimental feature of combat music during engagements.
The full details of all changes and improvements are available in the February release patch notes.
Please report issues with the release on the PC in the February release issues thread. For Mac users, there is, as always, a thread on the Macintosh forums for discussion of this release.

So a polite question...
Which structure do we have to burn down at being asked to pay billions more for skillbooks to fly ships in configurations we've already paid for and trained for?
I've got 3 characters, 2 of which can fly T2 triage Chimera and Archon, and one that can fly triage Archon, Chimera and Thanatos... in addition to Fighters V.
You have now landed me with a 3.5 BILLION ISK bill just for the skillbooks to be able to have them ready for Triage again, not to mention months of training.
I'm not happy, CCP. |

I'm not happy, CCP. Quite so. CCP should at least provide free Force Auxiliary skillbooks for those characters who have already invested heavily into carrier skills. Having to train skills again to achieve the same thing is bad enough, but having to pay serious ISK for the skillbooks adds insult to injury. |

Would you please refrain from turning on settings that I have specifically turned off. I do not want that new camera and I do not want to see improvements you made on it (that have not happened to begin with) and I do not want to turn it off again post-patch when I had turned it off pre-patch. Thank you.

With the implementation of skill trading, can we get the option to remove skills entirely and not just drain their skill points. I'd like to remove specific skills and their pre-requisits but am unable to remove the pre-requsits skill points because the latter skill is still injected and unable to be removed from my head. |

You don't nee to have the pre-reqs trained any more to inject skillbooks, so you should be able to remove SP from the pre-reqs once you have drained it from all the skills that require it:
From the patchnotes:
Quote:
- Skills can now be injected at any time, regardless of requirements.
- Skills with untrained prerequisites can now be added to the queue if they come after prerequisite training.

As of 2016-02-09 GMT 09:12:39 my skill training time since 2008-12-02 GMT 14:25 has been made Trivial by this P2W feature
All that time, using pen and paper to draw up character sheets (later with eve-mon o7), alarm clocking skill queues, min/max learning skills and implants before pvp, etc means nothing to you Greedy scoundrels expect for you see it as a fooking Profit percentage to exploit.
You have become like EA Suits.
Oh and your Bullshite reasoning in those devblogs, about how sad it is to buy characters from the bazaar with consequences tied into them is not "fun" to deal with, or your Bullshite posting how you listened to the ""community"" (extra " for Sion) where we all love this feature is dumb.
The reasons why we have Plex and the Character bazaar had to do with the Company dealing with Real Money Trading in this game. But I guess from now on it's just a skill training time Service, and if you pay a hell of a lot more, maybe you feel like you're at Starbucks. source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEK5I2lY6hI (Hilmar Petursson: The Human Brain is the Platform DICE 2014)

Switching to a new camera mode disables the overlay. So every time you switch back to the default camera mode you also have to enable the overlay again. Would be nicer if the client remembers whether you have overlay enabled or not. |

Unfortunately not. The skill extractor locked me from extracting skills points on a pre-req saying it needed this skill at L4 due to X and Y skill, even though I had just drained them of all their SP. |

One positive feedback point: the matte Tengu looks fairly nice.
However ... you shrunk the engine flares of the Tengu goo much. Especially the 2 long, vertical nozzle of the Interdiction Nullification subsystem to the side of the big main nozzle show that you are lazy and only put an ellipse on the engine instead of a properly filling rectangle.

In my opinion the way skill trading has been introduced crosses a line. CCP might think that this is a great new cash cow for now but you seem to have overlooked the financial demographic of your player base. I imagine the sight of players watching other players (particularly new ones) overtake them simply because they have more money will become the biggest reason NOT to play EVE online the game has ever seen. #paytowin?
Moving onto the second biggest reason NOT to play EVE online: the continuing and pointless addition of more and more skill training for nothing in return. I accept that with the new pay to win dynamic, CCP have added some mitigation to this topic (I hope the intended sarcasm was detected), but what about the other 75% of YOUR player base? This time around itGÇÖs the turn of capital pilots to bend over, only this time there's nothing slippery to ease the painGǪ
GǪGǪ I feel like IGÇÖm talking to a brick wallGǪGǪ. why botherGǪGǪGǪGǪ.
Long story short: CCP have set clear precedence in the past when racialising other ship skills such as destroyers, battlecruisers etc. ItGÇÖs very simple, if someone pays money to train something and you accept that money then you should honour that agreement, otherwise itGÇÖs stealing mmmmkay?????
Does anybody else feel the glob of CCP spit in their face?! *rages*
Squeezing players for extra cash for things such as cosmetics is as far as CCP should have allowed their greed to take them. I used to think EVE was a game for everyone from all walks of life. I believed for a long time that CCP understood that pay to win games ultimately only ever engineer a broken player dynamic, destined for failure. Years of adding pointless skills, the industry changes, then the sov changes and now this BS. The only single redeeming thing IGÇÖve seen in a long time is the prospect of the new citadels, but even then theyGÇÖre probably five years overdue.
Tread carefully CCP, you have a lot of disgruntled customers at the moment.

My ship seems to have changed colour while I was at lunch - my Skiff was dark grey and maroon before lunch, and now it is a colour I can only describe as baby puke yellow and maroon.
And the idea of people being able to buy skills makes those of us who actually have invested the time to train them look like chumps. I can't believe this was popular with anyone but CCP's accountants.... |

What is this bullshit?
The following skills have been seeded to the market:
Gùª Force Auxiliary ships >>> I have to drop 500mil to be able to do something that I can already do? Why?
Gùª Light & Support fighters >>> I have to skill something that I can already do? Why? What is happening to the current fighter skills?
Dread skill book is 100mil because if does 1 thing. Carrier Skill books are 500mil I though due to being able to do more than one thing. NOW THEY CANNOT. What is the 500mil for? What am I getting that is worth the price?
Grandfather these damn things ffs. If I can fly a carrier I should be able to fly both a FA and Carrier if you split the Fing ship split the learned skill too!

The new camera is still worse than the current. While you've given the options to remove the offset camera and the really annoying FOV changes, there's still 2 big issues.
The camera is more sluggish to control. You've put more weight behind it, which makes it slide around more, making it harder to accurately place the camera for 5 degree scans. Heck, the old camera is not exactly the most responsive camera already, and making it more so just baffles me.
You've lowered the vertical movement rate compared to the horizontal, which frankly is a STUPID idea in the fully 3D environment like EVE Online. The slightly more sluggish camera I can deal with, but this is just completely bonkers.
I spent a good 2 hours figuring out how to get rid of it when Fallout 4 did the exact same thing. Restricting the vertical camera movement does NOT belong on a game controlled by a mouse. |

+1 The biggest thing which bugs me is the price of the new skill books (and the old) and the addition of new fighter skill books. It's not all about having to train something new to get a partial new feature, but my skill plan. I'm one of these stupid idiots, who keep trying to skill with high efficiency. I have like 13.5m skill points in Drones, since I trained nearly everything to 5 in this group, when I had the perfect mapping for it. But now... I'm out of free remap points and can't easily switch back. It feels like CCP just slapped me into my face for using their "skill attribute feature". Silly me
What about 2 free remaps, to fix this problem? |

The new camera controls are awesome (although some fine-tuning needed, as already mentioned in the posts above)... 1st person will be great for bomb deployment I guess... although not tried that yet... New Skill System is also awesome... some long overdue changes... finally implement. Thanks!
Now to the bad things:

'nough said... +10 to this. Took ages to skill a carrier, mostly though for its no longer exisiting long-range capability: You guys still didn't remove the Jump Drive Calibration Skill of the Carrier. This should have done when nerfing the Carriers from long-range jump-vessels to jump-just-around-the-corner vessels... Just look at the Dreadnought Requirements...
skill transfer... most probably a good thing, practically eliminating the thinking of young chars as easy targets... Let's just hope the downside of this system won't end in some kind of pay2win... |
