It's been a day, surely someone must have dropped the $12k to buy every skill point in the game by now? no?

I have no ridicule for someone with the resources to enjoy a hobby to the fullest. No, my ire is more of those calling out the sky is falling and that EVE has become fully Pay2Win.
I ask here because we're a community, and that would be quite an achievement I doubt someone would keep to themselves. |

I'm not sure its possible for EVE to become pay to win. I personally (as someone with under 40m skill points) would love to fight a brand new player who bought 200m SPs and undocked in a several billion ISK ship. It would be easier to fight that new player than a 10 year vet on a 10 mil SP alt flying a frigate.
Besides, with the ability to get ISK for plex as well as the character bazaar, someone buying skillpoints was already possible. |

I was very much against skill injectors but they way they implemented it works for me. I have > 80 mil SP and could care less if people catch up. I don't like the notion that people are paying for SP that have already been paid for but it's not my money so knock yourself out.

In my opinion, the only way for EVE to become Pay to Win is for there to be a way to insert cash to make someone else's ship immediately explode, or take sov, or mine out a belt. Because really, what is "winning" in EVE? The point has been made countless times that every ship has a max amount of SP it can utilize, and even that fluctuates with fittings. There is no difference between a player with all skills trained, and a player with perfect frigate skills. This is why I support the skill injectors, it helps the individual reach their personal endgame and progression so they can play with the toys they want in the sandbox. |

I'll have to admit I hadn't even thought about this yet. But since the removal of medical clones you once again can theoretically lose everything in EVE. That's pretty cool. Okay, maybe not injected skill books, but still nice.

Is that laugh good, or laugh bad? I've got a character that has had implants in off and on, and had training interrupted a few times that has around 2,492 SP/h average (just checked). What is the "natural" maximum, with remap and +5 implants?

Already seeing some ridiculous numbers appearing on Eveboard. Somebody has 542,829 SP/h. Not sure whether to laugh at that, or shake my head. Bit of both, probably.

What is the "natural" maximum, with remap and +5 implants? The fastest you've ever been able to train for any prolonged period of time was 2,772 SP/h, and that was in the period between Apocrypha and Incursion (2009GÇô2010). Previous to that, you could get a bit higher with very specific RBA-builds in relation to specific skill groups, but you couldn't maintain it for very long. After that, the max was 2,700 SP/h.
What you're looking at is a 2003 character that has 10% higher average SP/h over a 13 year period than has ever been possible. It's pretty ridiculous.

Good point!
Perhaps the 21 day old character with 70.8m SP would be a better example (136k SP/h).

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to $$ buy $$ their way past me and right to the top... it seems it took less than 1 day.
\o/ for almost 13 yrs for focusing on training on the one thing in this game that could never be bought until now.

So he used 566 injectors to make 84.89mil SP @150K per injector and destroyed 198.1mil SP in doing so paying either roughly 365.07bil isk or $2,546.43 USD plus applicable taxes from CCP for the extractors to do it himself.
Buying the isk would be another option but seeing as that is relative based on who you buy it from its harder to calculate.
I have to agree that I feel bad for Dr Caymus, but I have to agree with Ralph on this one, Dr Caymus is the official winner in that category. At least as we know it as theres always the possibility someone else beat him and didnt say anything but I highly doubt it.
Ultimately what Im curious of is how many SPs will have been destroyed in the first day, first month, first year of this feature. Avg SP destroyed and all the other nifty metrics. Maybe CCP can do a presentation for fanfest of such info. Avg SP per toon, total SP in game, etc, etc.

Imam: That's right.
