So, I wanted to make a clean reinstall of EvE on my SSD. But then you choose install path at the beginning - it only installs launcher in that place (around 150 mb) - the whole game hides somewhere else. I.ve found some in-game files at C:\ProgramData\CCP\EVE - but how do I change this directory(to move the whole game on ssd)? not a single sign in the launcher. |

How savage would you be to not install your OS on the SSD? You might as well throw your SSD away and enjoy the mechanical slow experince.
If you open the Launcher, click the menu up to the right, shared cache - move . Should move most of the gamefiles to wherever. |

Well, I came to the same conclusion that shared cache=game client. After some manipulation and manual delete I managed to put it on SSD. Thought shared cache = old patches like in WoW. About SSD - in my city The best SSD's to buy are kingston and intel with only 3 or 10k cycles, so I dont want to risk to lose some important info) |

Dont worry about those things... Cycles cant be accurately measured or guaranteed so they stopped writing those specs. For instance i unpack everything, download everything, constantly install and uninstall steam-games, use my SSD as cache for things torrented down to mechanical storage(35TB). I have written 58TB to it over two years, at this rate it will last at least a decade more.
You dont need to worry about using SSDs actively, you get a buttload of speed that you can abuse 24/7 all year round for a very very long time. By the time the SSD will have burnt out its cells you will have upgraded it already. I used to worry and /o\ over cycles, but it turns out that even if it was true that the cells died after a set amount of cycles, it will outlast your build by many many years. |
