Hi Team,
You guys have been doing an excellent job of making amazing changes to eve over a period of time and of introducing new features.
I was thinking just like an increase in the Planetary Interactions, would it possible for people who are into industries and research to either take up professions like a courier agent or a mercenary who can run missions on your behalf. Also, if something can be done where in we design our own ships to suit as per our flight style.
For example I like flying a Frigate as they are fast but the limited slots make it impossible for me to achieve my wormhole space objectives. So i'd like to have more flexibility in designing my own frigate. Of course we can have some very specific design limits (graphically I mean). Others can limit the maximum number of slots a frigate can have (say overall 14 slots or 16 slots, but allocating the slots can be upto the designer, like 5 top, 4 medium 2 bot and 2 rigs.) or restrict the number of bonuses as you have compensated to balance the whole ship tree, or make a trade-off between an upgrade/bonus to a slot, or add extra slots to ones ship at the expense of another attribute.
I feel (its my personal opinion) that it will enhance the research and Industry Design sector of eve. Along with just the NCP organisations currently making the blueprints player made designs can also add flair to the ship development industry. Also, a logical extension would be to have random T2 or T3 versions of the original ship which will have the same design but slot increase/ property increase depending on the choice or a combination thereof, that a player makes (if they want the t2 ship to be assault or sniper or Covert Ops, or interdiction or Logistics). An analogy can be the Enchant feature in various RPG games that you come across for designing/ making your own weapons.
Same can be said about ship equipment and other allied things. Eg. a POS can have the need of water and compressed air which can be sourced from the planet/ transported from a Faction station to the POS.
These are just Ideas and I understand that it'll take time to develop them and maybe I won't be the first person to suggest this however, I must admit that I really like the game and its awesome to play it therefore doing my bit to contribute in anyway possible. Also, I understand that this idea has now become your Intellectual property by virtue of Crowd sourcing and by my act of actively sharing/ disclosing it to you, hence I keep no rights over the Idea and would be really happy if you guys can just think about it and share what are your thoughts on the Ideas.

Have you ever heard of a little thing called 'game balance'? |

The only thing you need to be a courier agent, or missions specialist is to get out there in the wide world of EvE and do it. If you want someone to do them for you then you just have to ask around and be willing to pay the prices people might ask. Here is a topic that has just one example of a player that is doing this, perhaps you should start your search by speaking to them. Recruiting Freelance Mission Runners
Designing your own ship really needs to be looked at from from two different points of view. Design the outward appearance of your ships has some possibilities as time passes and computer hardware / software progresses. Designing your own slot layouts, power grid, cpu etc will probably never happen because of the balance problems associated with it. |

You're the first person I have ever seen posting this "idea" after spending 4 years on forum. So yeah... Maybe you're the first, but after people see the response on this post, they won't post it, and if they do, it just proves people are too lazy to search forum. So yeah. |

The closest thing I would recommend is the t3 cruisers, and even then you're working within limitation but that's a good thing. No ship will be able to do all the parts of scanning effectively, whether its slots or whatever gets in the way, but every role has a ship that excels in it. Playing within those restrictions helps balance the game and make ship selection super important. Designing your frigates like that is for a game that relies on balancing a lot less than eve |
