Currently you can gank people, warp in a velator alt ongrid and dump the loot into a deep space hauler's fleet hangar without any consequences for the deep space transport, and only a minor velator lossmail. This feels like an asymmetric use of perfectly normal game mechanics by very clever players.
I'm proposing that there should be a new system where both the velator and the deep space transport get a flashy yellow flag for stealing from the wreck as the container's yellow contents are put into the deep space transport's fleet hangar. I'm looking forward to hear people's responses.

It would be simpler if you got a velator and a DST and just took the loot. Seriously. |

1. Do a search of the forums. 2. See the other 2,134,955 times this exact same idea has been posted. 3. Read the same dozen or so reasons why this is a bad idea.
There was a 50+ page thread just a couple weeks ago that covered this ad nauseaum, so reported for redundancy.

meh, zombie/hydra thread.

So you're proposing a way for one player to force a suspect flag onto another player?
I'm sure you're not smart enough to have thought through the unintended consequences of that, but it sounds like ******* content to me, baby.

I'm confused. How would one force a suspect flag on another player in the OP scenario? Wouldn't you have to be in the same fleet to use DSTs Corporate Hanger? Wouldn't the pilot of the DST have to allow fleet access? That doesn't sound like you are forcing them, as they agreed to be in your fleet and allowed access to the hangar.
What are the unintended consequences? I'm genuinely curious to this mechanic. |

DSTs aren't the only thing with a fleet hangar. I'd have half a dozen "Newbie friendly mining corp" orcas AWOXED on the first ******* day.

You make it sound like the one who did the gank is grabbing the loot and dumping it onto someone else. What actually happens is that the ganker becomes unable to access fleet hangars owned by non-criminal fleet members and when his ship goes down, the wreck is automatically abandoned. The victim's wreck is still owned by that victim and normal theft rules apply. That DST who loots the victim's wreck goes suspect.
I don't think you appreciate how much work goes into ganking in highsec.

But I think we can all agree it would be more fun if things were the way he suggests, right?
That friendly fire flag was a real bummer. I want to go around giving Orcas colortags to match their new paint job.
