There seems to be a nasty habit of people pulling implants once it becomes clear you are about to be podded. If you fly with implants and you lose you ship & pod they should be on the killmail.
I'd like the ability to remove implants whilst in space removed, alternatively the ability to remove them when you have player aggression timer.

Nah.
It's dumb, but you're not entitled to a killmail. besides, I would imagine this would screw things up for wormhole types. |

In several months...
So, if you're going to argue like that, can you tell us why you feel you are entitled to an expensive killmail? |

you cannot pull the mods off your ship to hide them from a kill mail, so how is it acceptable from a pod?
either disallow it from a pod, or allow it on a ship |

Its a valid argument as is the alternative in the original post of "the ability to remove them when you have player aggression timer." |

You have not said why you feel you are entitled to an expensive killmail.
Why is it a valid argument, and why do you feel you are entitled to bigger numbers on your killboard? |

The point of the killmail is to show you want you destroyed, we cant strip the modules off a ship to hide the loss of officer items so why should we be able to do the same with implants. |

You caught it, you killed it. If you catch a snake-set pod while the implants are in, and kill it 3 seconds after the implants are pulled, you get nothing but a clean pod on the killboard, which is an inaccurate representation of the effort you put in and what you effectively killed. So you should get to show that you killed a pod with a full snake-set, which means disallowing removal of implants in space, or at least with an aggression timer. |

Cause big numbers are fun :) I agree, it would be nice to see the true value of implants lost. What's the harm in it anyways? Oh noes people can see your expensive losses. Oh well.
I mean yea, you could argue there's no point, but there's no point in not. Like, what's the point of people hanging like deer heads on their wall? There isn't really, it's just fun to keep score.

No it's not a cosmic signature.
Probably.

If you give them enough time to pull their implants you don't deserve a shiny KM. It's like trying to say people shouldn't be able to self destruct to deny you KM's. |

As ccp recently stated they want to slow / stop on the fly changes, and changing your implants while in combat should be restricted too.. how many titan pilots that run nomads or ascendancy keep slave sets in there cargo now incase they get tackled, just so they can stretch out their hp in the hope that someone can save them...
implants are supposed to be delicate parts of the pilots brain. ripping them out without medical facilities should have side effects like ripping out level 5 skills. |

CCP should just ban podding.
Podding is literally bullying in space. Just don't allow that at all and that will solve the problem. |

To OP: If you think people are yanking expensive implants from their heads, the best way to troll them is to let the pod go. Then they've done all that for nothing.
EvE is hard. It's harder if you're stupid.
I couldn't have said it better.

implants are supposed to be delicate parts of the pilots brain. ripping them out without medical facilities should have side effects like ripping out level 5 skills. And who cares if they are ripping out max implant sets. It's a good thing to see those sets destroyed and they get destroyed either way. Can you even put implants in while in space? It's not something I've ever tried to do so not even sure if that works, but again, who cares? They risk that extra value, and risk having the destruction of their normal set not give them any benefit and then have to destroy the slave set to return back to their normal set afterwards also.
Destruction does not have to be a hostile force. It's still destruction and still drives EVE's economy. The only question is about shiny KM's here. Not about 'on the fly' changes. If it's about on the fly changes then lets stop implants being pluggable in while in space. But considering they have created scriptable hardeners for capitals that are very much 'on the fly' they aren't against on the fly work. |

It will get fixed eventually. An easy fix, and with wormholers(and everyone else) getting access to a cheap station in a few months, there is no reason to keep the ability to change implants in space.
Just like self-destructing to avoid a kill mail, ripping out implants denies the victor their due and provides no additional game play and thus will be fixed. Ripping out implants at the last minute adds nothing and denies players a motivation to go out and hunt each other.
So +1, but I expect it is only a matter of time before this simple change is made. |

I think the idea in the OP is terrible, even worse than the idea of just banning podding all together.
OP is saying unplugging implants is bad because he can't get a shiny kill mail. Well, he doesn't deserve a shiny kill mail, but his idea could be achieved just by banning pod killing. Same outcome from two equally dumb ideas. |
