[CistaCista = Cista2] Eve Museum webpage Eve Museum is found in the Malkalen system
The last shares of the EVE Museum second share sale have been sold, so you wonGÇÖt be seeing more of that thread :) I am instead placing this thread out there, and this will be the home of all activities related to the museum. So add this to your favorites rightaway!
In the future here will be the announcements from us regarding - monthly financial reports - dividend payouts - sale of available shares (from buybacks) - other activities such as shareholder votes
As an interested party you can - request to buy shares from other players - set your own shares for sale for a price higher than the 30 mil buyback guarantee - ask for Cista2 to administer a safe share transaction - and of course ask any questions or raise any discussion re. the museum
There are no shares available atm, but if you love the idea of an EVE Museum, you can consider giving an interest-free loan or a simple donation! Thanks! |

- and I have paid out the monthly dividends. They were 393,870 per share, altogether 780 mil were paid out.
This was a paltry 1.3% dividend on the share value of 30 mil. The dividends took a dive this month because a) The Museum used money to pay out the 30 bn loan b), Cista2 paid out the last of private loans so purse wasn't exactly swelling there either.
BUT, this was all done to ensure that from now on, all profits I make will be channeled through to EVE Museum shareholders as well as museum purchases!
Edit: wrong toon hehe

Magnu may run a bit late with the March report, so I paid out the dividends first.
Was a steady month, there was one quite large buy which was the Alliance Tournament Gold Medal for 5 bn.
Nevertheless the dividends grew to 1.5% this month (438K per share), and this is how it should continue. Enjoy :) |

I wish to make a donation to the EVE Museum. I have put on contract to CistaCista an original catalyst salvage destroyer with fit:
[Salvager] Expanded Cargohold II Expanded Cargohold II Expanded Cargohold II
Cap Recharger II 1MN Monopropellant Enduring Afterburner
Salvager I Salvager I Salvager I Salvager I Small Tractor Beam I Small Tractor Beam I Small Tractor Beam I Small Tractor Beam I
Large Salvage Tackle I Large Salvage Tackle I Large Salvage Tackle I
Why this ship should be in the museum:
- The salvage destroyer used to be one of the most popular options for looting and salvaging missions before the Noctis and the MTU were invented. The catalyst was deemed the superior destroyer for this purpose as it had the largest cargo capacity when fitted with three Expanded Cargohold II. This ship is therefore a suitable exhibit of the evolving meta of EVE.
- In addition this ship still has the original rigs, now changed into Large size
History of the ship:
- The ship is named Scorched Earth V. "Scorched Earth" obviously refers to the policy of not leaving anything of value on the PvE battle field. In reality the loot tables at the time still included Cap Boosters, which were very bulky and of relatively low value, so were often left behind; similar for Metal Scaps which used to be size 1 (or even larger?).
- The number V indicates that I managed to loose 4 previous incarnations of the ship, among others due to the explosion of the Pleasure Garden in the level 4 mission "Damsel in Distress".
- The last loss of a similar fitted ship among my alts is 2009-08-08, making that the likely date when this ship was purchased and fitted.

I have no returned shares available to sell - there is an offer to buy shares for 31 mio ISK a few posts up. Thanks all :) |

Hey! My fashionably underpaid accountant pointed out to me that I had made a mistake in money transfer among the two internal accounts of the museum, when purchasing that monocle. This resulted in too little money paid out for dividends for June!
This has now been corrected, and a cool 200K extra on each share is the result that has been sent to you, bringing the June dividends to 2.2% altogether YAY! This is the highest amount of ISK the museum has paid out per share in its first year. |

*Help evaluate the EVE Museum collection*
So! The public IPO has run for a full year now, and this should be a good occasion to reassess the value of the assets.
Why is this important? It is not essential, in the sense that shareholder dividends do not come from profit within the museum, so changes in values do not impact you immediately. But for investors it is nevertheless reassuring to know that money has not been squandered, and that the estimated value of museum assets remains several times higher than the price value stamped on the shares that are held.
I have looked through the entire asset list as seen on the webpage and suggested some new values in the far right column of each table there. GREEN values for items that have increased in value, and RED values for the opposite. The scramble to buy materials for citadels let many people to sell everything else this year, meaning also the collectables market was hit. Especially ships that were easily liquidated. Furthermore I also bought many rigged ships at a much too high price. Meanwhile, Astronautic Engineering increased value from 5 bn to 50 bn, and Silvershore Greatcoat went from 12 bn to 25 bn, so that helps :)
You can now correct me! If you have time and knowledge, please have a look at some of the values listed, and comment on anything that you believe is off. I will be happy to adjust before we do the next montly report for July.

About one week left if you want to correct any judgment errors I have made in valuing assets!
It would be particularly interesting to get any opinions on the value of the Astronautic Engineering skillbook. It was as fact sold for 50 bn or so to that banker that was the first person to attempt to max out all the skills of EVE Online. And looking at the market data for this skillbook, it can be seen that other sales for it have been even higher. These sales do smell a bit of RMT though, if you take a look at the graph. What is it really worth?
Also the Cross of the Throne Order is hard to assess. I bought it for 80 bn and immediately got an offer to sell it on after that. But since then, CCP went and seeded another one so there is now two of them in game. I have left the value standing at 80 bn though, as in my opinion any item that is that rare must be valued not in bn but in hundreds of bn. |

This spending means dividends dropped slightly to 561K per share, or 1.9%. On the bright side, the total amount of ISK that the museum has paid you shareholders in dividends, has now surpassed 10 bn ISK :)

Dividends have been paid! The museum has been sitting tight on its purse, while trading is going well for Cista2, so I have donated more money to spread around.
Dividends this month were thus 750K per share, a nice 2.5%. And total payout to outsiders arrives at 1.5 bn, the highest monthly payout we have accomplished so far. Enjoy! |

Here is a public announcement on the value of shares
You may not recall this, but the first sale of 1000 shares in summer 2015 was @20 mil per share. Second share sale of 1000 shares in winter 2015 was @30 mil per share. It is my intention to offer a third share sale at some point in the future, where the base share value will be lifted to 40 mil per share. However, such a sale will only be proposed once it appears certain that players are willing to buy shares at that high price. It could be at any point within a year.
There have recently been a few offers to pay 33 mil per share, and now 35 mil, but no share owner has afaik been willing to sell any shares since May 2016.
The announcement today is to say that if a player from now on sells shares back to the Museum at the base price of 30 mil, I will no longer resell these for the same price. Any such shares will simply be kept in the Museum until such time that a third share sale can be proposed.
I will hopefully buy the first AT ship in 6 months or so, until then I will not spend much money - I have only bought some cheaper items recently. The monthly dividends will certainly continue rising in the foreseeable future. They may take some sort of dip if and when a big purchase such as an AT ship is made. |

It's almost Xmas and I have good tidings! Dividends have been paid out.
The Museum is still sitting tight and Cista2 making good money, so dividends continue their slow ascent. This time it was 922K ISK per share, which made a nice 3.1% interest, a record high. (For those that bought the cheap shares it is 4.6%. And also a record for total monthly payout to shareholders of 1.8 bn, and alltime total payout from the museum has now passed 15 bn.

Discussion of new share sale!
According to the museum rules of governance, shareholders must approve any new share sale. I am going to be asking the permission of the shareholders to launch a third sale of 1000 shares, and at the same time increase the value of each share from 30 to 40 million ISK. This will be the third and possibly last share sale that the museum will make!
Background: There are 10,000 museum shares altogether 1,000 shares were sold in July 2015, for a price of 20 mil ISK each. 1,000 shares were sold in December 2015, for a price of 30 mil ISK each 8,000 shares are still with the museum. The rules of governance stipulate that 5,000 can be sold.
You can discuss or criticise the proposal here in the coming days. Stating intentions to buy shares will also be helpful for the process. Later in the month a shareholder vote will come up that will last 7 days. The share sale will begin immediately after next dividends in start of March. Anyone can post here, you donGÇÖt have to be a shareholder. For any additional info and discussions, you can find me in the GÇ£EVE MuseumGÇ¥ chat channel.
Points in favor: a) We have had a player offer exactly 40 mil ISK for shares now, apparently not with much succes b) The museum wants this share sale for increased publicity, and also because these 40 bn will help reach the stage of buying AT ships. c) Current shareholders will see their shares jump in face value
Points against: Problem: A higher share value will mean relatively smaller dividends per share. Answer: That only affects new share buyers. The actual amount of ISK you get as dividends, will not be less.
Problem: Old shareholders will immediately sell back their shares for an easy profit. This can bring the museum to its knees. Answer: there is currently just around 45?? bn isk cash in the museum, and Cista2 has a good deal of money as well, so we can handle it. And I have waited more than a year with this share sale, until I could see that the perceived value of shares has in fact grown to 40 mil.
Problem: The public liabilities of Cista2/CistaCista will grow by 40 bn isk, plus in fact 20 bn more is added on the face value of old shares. Total public liability will thus double from 60 bn to de facto 120 bn isk. This is too much unsecured money. Answer: no good answer here. You can see my full history of unsecured bonds since 2009 summed up in this document. I have received 373 bn unsecured ISK, and paid back 402 bn ISK so far. You decide.
Other news As an aside, after this I have plans to let the museum start making its own money, in addition to the money that are donated to it. The museum would buy and trade certain slow-selling items, for example rare SKINs. The profits would become dividends directly. This would lead to a more transparent economy for the museum compared to now, where dividend size is mainly decided by how much money I donate each month from my other character Cista2. The museum would become much more like an actual company. More about this after the upcoming share selling vote. |

At the very least you don't have to worry about 50% of the shares currently in circulation being sold.

Seeing the support from current as well as prospective shareholders, I have now opened up the suggested shareholder vote! It will run for 10 days. You will vote on the suggestion to sell another 1,000 shares and at the same time increase the buyback value of all shares from 30 to 40 million ISK.
You find the vote in your Corporation interface, under GÇ£PoliticsGÇ¥ and GÇ£Open VotesGÇ¥.
I shall not be voting, but I recommend a YES vote. If the vote goes through, I will allow our trusty (unpaid) accountant Magnu to buy a number of shares at half price. Since I have plans to start actual business within the museum itself, I very much hope he will stay on in the coming years, to oversee the complex evolution of EVE Museum! |

There is 2 days left to have your say in the vote about having a new share sale. Be sure to not forget it.
You may notice that there is a new vote up today: Create 25 new shares. this is a formality to correct the total number of museum shares back to 10,000. You may remember months ago I reported to you that someone had managed to destroy some shares, supposedly by deleting a character. Since the ruleset of the museum stipulates that the number of shares is 10,000, a correction was due.
You do not have to vote in this one, because I already voted.
BUT, after the current vote I will set up a new one about allowing the museum to do some actual tradework, so keep an eye out for that in about 3 days. |

So, those two votes are behind us. It tells me there was 100% support for a new share sale (0.74 out of 0.74 whatever that means lol). The share sale starts after the 1st.
But now comes another vote! With the following long explanation! This vote is as I mentioned before, to allow the museum to begin buying and selling items in order to make some profit within the museum itself. This will be certain slow-moving items such as some rare SKINs. The long term goal is to make the museum more transparent, and function more like an actual public company. But I will start very slowly with just a few trades.
Listen up for some technicalities: Museum trading will be done from the Corporation Master Wallet (CMW), and this means that it is done with YOUR money, as opposed to the trading that I do privately on Cista2 to fund the dividends that you all know and love. In the future, you will be paid two different sets of dividends each month, as ALL the profit from museum trades will be distributed each month to the public shareholders directly and separate from the normal dividends.
NB! there is inherently a small risk of losing money on such trades. Shrinkage in the CMW would weaken the GÇ£musclesGÇ¥ the museum has for buying its permanent artefacts, but not lessen the dividends that you are used to getting, because those come from Cista2 and are independent of the size of the CMW wallet.
Now we come to the actual vote: Selling of items is not mentioned in the Rules of Governance (RoG), and any changes of RoG must be approved by the shareholders. The vote that is up now is therefore to add the following lines to the RoG:GÇÖ
12) The Museum is also allowed to buy and sell certain items not intended for the collection, as a means to make income. Such items are bought and sold from the CMW and accounted for separetely. 13) All profit from sales of trade items will be paid out each month as dividends to the public shareholders only (not to the totality of 10,000 shares). Any losses will be subtracted from profits of that month, but not from subsequent months.
NB! I wil also update the wording of the RoG to distinguish clearly between GÇ£artefactsGÇ¥ which in museum lingo then are the artefacts in the permanent collection, and GÇ£ trade itemsGÇ¥ which are those items that can be sold. I will also update the explanation of the wallet structure that is on the RoG webpage.
And final NB! If this vote goes through, I will also delete 1 note on the bottom of the RoG webpage, which is this one - Donations can also be specified to single wallet divisions, for example to buy ships.
ThatGÇÖs it! I very much hope you will allow the museum to take steps into trading with the surplus money. We will indeed have a lot of idle money in the CMW in the future, as you know I am aiming for buying AT ships and have to build up stash. I intend to start this vote very soon, please post here if you have any objections. And feel free to take snapshots of the RoG as it looks before any changes.

That vote on the possibility of doing some trading went through fine (100%). I will be looking at a few items to trade.
I have paid out the dividends for February. I am a little tired (not drunk!) and made an honest mistake while calculating and paid out 1 bn too much. The dividends this month are thus 1.39 M per share = 4.6% (should've been 4.3%). Since the museum started, more than 20 bn have now been paid out as dividends.
Congrats!

The third EVE Museum share sale is now open! There are 1025 shares available to buy at a price of 40 million ISK each.
You will find the latest financial report from Magnu Stormhawk just above this post. You can find a graph of the development of dividends paid since 2015 in this graph on imgur. (top line shows dividends at the time, bottom line recalculated to share value 40 million ISK). The dividends will not keep growing, I might not push them over 3% in the long term.
Everything else about the museum is found on the webpage, specifically the Rules of Governance. A summation of all my public projects since 2009 is found here.
How to buy shares: Send the ISK for the number of shares you want directly to the EVE Museum corporation, and post here on this thread that you have sent the money. I will post here when I have transferred your shares to you.
200 shares should be the maximum one person can buy. For faithful services, Magnu Stormhawk is offered to buy up to 100 shares at half price if he wishes.

Dividends for the month of April have been paid!
Through donations I am holding the dividends quite stable atm, it fact it was a payout of exactly same size this time: 4.06 bn or 3.4% per share.
The total dividend payout from the museum is now over 30 bn.
The museum bought its first two items that were meant for resale. One of these was Apocalypse Victory SKIN, which I then realised was a quite new item and downtrending. I therefore immediately resold it to the one remaining respectable buy order of 1,9 bn ISK, taking a 100 mil loss. Best buy order is now 1.5 bn.
The idea with this buy-sale thing is however NOT to sell to buy orders, but to the forum. All beginnings are interesting, and I will soldier on with buying and selling some rare items through the museum. It may or may not develop into a big business in itself, only the coming years will show.
I have also just bought 2000 corpses for the collection. These were old corpses and there might be some VERY valuable ones hidden in there, but who wants to look through 2000 corpses one at a time? I don't! Actually, if anyone wants, they are more than welcome to come and do it. In fact, that corpse deal was so good that the seller renegated on the rest of corpses (1250, I got 2000) and sold them to someone else! |

So, last update from me on the precious old forums! Another steady month where I didn't do much with the museum as I am still hesitating to start actual trade in there. Cista2 donated the usual, and so the dividends became the same:
1.34 M per share (3.4%). 3000 shares out, total payout is 4.02 bn, accumulated dividend payout from the museum is 38.80 bn.
Enjoy!
