So i was doing the math and correct me if im wrong but if you were to set up a few pos reactions in lowsec and just ship in all mats, it still would be lucritive... i have no good moons so was seeing if i could expand my sources of income.
I assume there is some catch that makes this a terrible idea so im askin on here lol... is there something im missing that makes this venture illadvised?
Thanks |

The catch is mainly to do with the typical low-sec security issues. Otherwise, it's a very profitable business as long as you can safely move your stuff in and out. |

Not terrible at all.
Just be aware how many dreadnought minutes it takes to reinforce your tower.

Safer in a ****** wormhole, imo. The last mile of the logistics take a bit more effort, though it can actually make the rest of the logistics substantially cheaper/easier.
I spent a good long time running reactions in a C3 that, incidentally, had 1% POCOs owned by a long-dead corp, making it a fairly good place for a solo to setup camp. There was one other corp in there and they moved out a few days after I moved in (I may have possibly, perhaps, stolen their unanchoring tower while they were on their way out ).
Wait for a proximal-to-Jita static to open, haul out to the nearest station, set up some round trip courier contracts to bring you new raw mats/bring your goods to market.

The only real catch apart from the above mentioned is learning when to switch reactions and follow market trends as prices can change drastically making the difference between 1mil an hour or 100k an hour per reaction. Keep an eye on this and follow market trends and you'll be fine. gl |

This is only a good advice if you plan to run a low number of moons. The slightly higher risk in LS is nothing compared to the additional logistical burden of a WH.
Just do not make your decision based on current prices. The profitability of most of the reactions is on a long term high, some doing > 1 bln / mo after fuel on a dual-tower setup - long term experience is more an average of 500 mln.
But it scales extremely well, you can handle up to 20 moons without getting burned out too quickly if you avoid the high maintenance reactions (Fullerides, Nanotransistors and Hypersynaptic Fibers). |

There is a lot of isk to make from reaction towers. However it is a lot of work, and requires constant monitoring of the market.
Getting high value moon mats in and out of low sec to feed the tower is risky, but not an issue with a little practice and the right location. The cloak/MWD trick is very handy for that once you get good at it. I have gone right through many gate camps without issue in my DST using it.
Once you get used to the moon goo markets you learn what prices to buy and sell at and can make billions of isk per month. But you will spend a lot of time hauling materials, and shuffling reactions. A well set up reaction tower will fully load a large POSes CPU leaving very little for defense. don't forget to factor in your fuel costs when deciding what reactions to run.
