I see a few setups with them... but all I can think is... "Why?"
I'm sure there are more useful things to fit there... It'd be like fitting a frigate sized nos on a cruiser wouldn't it? Kinda pointless, imo.

Well....a large NOS will still screwup a careless interceptor pilot. ...which could be what the carrier pilot needs to warp off in a sketchy situation. So essentially it's not the energy benefit that the carrier pilot would be after but rather the offensive benefit of disabling a scramming frig.

You have 3 options for fiting carriers high slots : - NOS - drone links - remote repairers
NOS dry out every ship that get close, fit corpum NOS there drone links upgrade your fighters in every ways remote repairs keep alive your arazu cynogenerator that damps who deserve to :P
anyway the way NOS works, you should use all NOSes

Smartbombs is also very important. A couple of log range faction smartbombs will instapop all enemy drones that are attacking you, as well as some small ship pilots orbiting close --

Wouldn't Heavy Neuts do the job better? They'd be more effective against cruisers/elite cruisers too, and the cap usage shouldn't be too much of a problem for a carrier, or would it? (400 cap every 24 secs I believe).
I have *no* experience with capital ships so this might be the worst idea ever, but I'll still post it.

The only drone upgades to affect Fighters are Drone Control Units (+1 drone per unit) so technically they only upgrade your Fighters in 1 way (ie. more)
You also have the option of fitting a Warfare Link module.
And yes, a Heavy Neut will be far more efficient. -----
