A slave set could be pretty usefull to an armor tanking cap ship. A halo might as well for any type or tank, though probably not much...

Okay... but how would a snake set be useful on something like a dread? :P

Nano dreads are the obvious counter to Nano-BS's.

Nano Naglfar for bumping Titans and Motherships out of alignment!
Wonder how far a BS would go if a Naglfar hit them at 1000km/sec ?

I have no idea how EvE physics would work here, but if a Nagl moving at 1000 m/s hits a Rokh and transfers all of it's momentum to it (i.e no bounce back) it would send the Rohk flying off at 8532 m/s. If there was a bounce involved, that number would go down.

Crystal implants won't work on capital boosters, but they'll work on "regular" boosters fited on capital ships. Agreed, that doesn't do much good, considering that there's no shield booster that can even come close to the sheer boost per second of a capital booster. So yeah, crystals for capitals, no big deal.
Snake implants won't do you much good, I mean what's the point of a "normalspace" moving capital ? Just warp it into place or cyno it around. As for dreads, once you engage siege mode... well, you get the idea.
Halo implants MIGHT do you some good, but not much, to be honest. I mean, what would hit you "less badly" with a slightly smaller sig ? Oh well, maybe sieged mode dreads, and that if you're moving... but then again, snakes would do you a bit more good there, right ? The only imaginable situations would be if you are in a sieged mode dread, and a Phoenix is shooting at you (guns hit targets with 0 transversal equally well regardless of target sig)... or if you're in a webbed dread/carrier, and a sieged mode dread is shooting you... that's about it.
Slave sets, well, those ARE very good for armor-tanking capitals (which is most of them), because of the extra buffer. I mean, face it, in a typical large-scale combat, it's all about buffer, not repair, right ? The extra buffer the slave set provides can just as well account for several minutes worth of capital repairer cycles, if not more (think also maxarmor rigs and other armor-enhancing implants).
And the most overlooked implant set, the Talisman. Well, hellooooo, the one thing some capship pilots get to whine about is how hard it is to combat the incoming NOSage... agreed, it's not a LOT of help, but having 6 NOS that work roughly as good as 10 NOS (give or take) might do you some limited good if pinned down in a tight spot.
All in all, I'd say Slave >> Talisman / Snake > Halo >>> Crystal. _ MySkills | Module/Rig stacknerfing explained |
