Greetings
It has been a while since you last heard from the Drifter Autopsy Team and I must admit that it has been difficult for us to work under the restrictions that CONCORD has applied to us. But I am delighted to announce that we have still managed to achieve a considerable progress through a partnership with the Sisters of EVE and material from the autopsy is being studied all over New Eden. Although data from the autopsy have been used in various fields, spanning from healthcare to ship engineering, there has been a limited direct application to us capsuleers. However that is about to change soon and consider this as a little GÇÿheads upGÇÖ.
The first topic is a vast amount samples of Drifter tissues that need to be analyzed. SOE and the Autopsy Team are asking you, the capsuleers, for help. The reason is that the tissue samples are too complex for AIs to analyze and the enhanced neurological attributes of capsuleers would enable us to achieve much more accurate results compared to baseliners. I canGÇÖt give more details on the task however you should know that SOE will be compensating you for your work. The task will not require any medical background thus it will be available to any capsuleers.
The second point is that we are getting close to the release of a new line of neural boosters based on neurotransmitters harvested from the Drifter brain. These complex neurotransmitters have been contributing to the complex yet efficient connection between the Drifters and their battleships so it has long been on one my goals to translate this to capsuleer technology. The majority of this research has been through our partnership with SOE so the production and distribution will be managed by them. The details will likewise be announced by them. Additionally it is worth noting that samples from this research has been sold to external partners so it may be possible that additional neural boosters will emerge.
I am looking forward to the launch of this project and I would encourage you to check it out. I guarantee you that it is worth your time and at the same time you will be able to contribute to some vital research. Feel free to ask questions here but be aware that it is limited what I can answer at the current point.
On behalf of the Drifter Autopsy Team - Dr. Mizhir Starsurge

Neural boosters.. I think I'll pass on them.
However, this medical research is extremely interesting. Crowdsourcing out suggests it's likely going to be along the lines of pattern recognition, or possibly puzzle solving. Who knows, speculating here till we get more details, but I am very interested to know more.
As you say the Sisters are involved in this, is there any connection between this and their activites within the Hive systems themselves? It seems most likely the two are connected.

The TL;DR version:
"THE SSOE has, as you noticed, been in the Hive systems with lots of ships. We're here today because you made a lot of noise. We've been doing much Science out there. We know you are doing Science too. We would like to see your Science to compare with our Science. But we're not going to let you look at our Science to compare with your Science.Trust us. kthxbye."
There's an old adage, "If you're good at something, never do it for free." I suggest strongly that any research or findings made by corporations like my own or Arataka be now kept among us and not disseminated to the SSOE or CONCORD or their affiliates until such a time as they agree to meet and provide equal access to their research.
In short, we should not be doing their work for them. We should not be risking our lives, the lives of our workers, our personal or corporate wealth or risk placing a target on our people if they are going to refuse to be equally forthcoming. While we may be inclined to work with them, they have to understand that we do not work under them.
All in all I found this "press conference" to be nothing more than damage control because we and others shined a light on their activities. Ultimately, it tells us nothing. The SSOE need to realize that they are far less clever than they think and that our capabilities should never be underestimated or taken advantage of. We're not going to cook dinner for them and then be fed scraps from their table. Especially not when there's a killer in the kitchen.

All of his fury and rage.
He dispatched against them a band of Avenging Angels"

Ah! Congratulations on the work, Ms. Starsurge! We referenced the Apollo Tyrannos autopsy report quite a bit when we were analyzing the Hikantas.
Now, I must ask some prying questions, though.
In the first place, are you indicating that CONCORD directed you to partner with the Sisters of EVE? Were any justifications given for working with the Sisters, as opposed to established biotech firms such as Cromeaux, Zainou, Genolution, or Poteque Pharmaceuticals? I can only assume that the Sisters have needed to grow a biotech division from the ground up, seeing as they historically have not been noted for their biotechnology work.
In the second place, is this to say that part of Mr. Moros's recent fatigue is because he's been wearing multiple hats? He was a major contributor on our report released about a month ago, and presumably has still been working with the Apollo autopsy team...? Considering that he was recently hired by IKAME, I may need to schedule a meeting with him.
Hm.

Mr. Onzo. Thank you for your support. There is a connection, but our role is mainly analyzing the tissue samples that the expedition teams have brought back.
Ms. Ameriya. Thanks for the compliment. Wonderful to see you again.
Mr. Mokk. It is your choice. We are just extending an offer for those who want to help out and get some rewards in return. If you are not interested in it, I will respect your choice. As much as I would prefer to work under more open conditions I still have to manoeuvre within the restrictions. I certainly remembered what happened to Lucas Raholan and his crew when he crossed said restrictions. I am not willing to put my crew into same risk so I have to obey CONCORD, even though it is against my will.
I can not speak on behalf of the SOE expiditions as I have nothing to do with them. However I can confirm that we have recieved more material from them. The goal of the Autopsy Team is to uncover the Drifter physiology, so we will take the opportunities we get.
Ms. Priano. Thank you. Both for the support and for the work you have done. SOE was one of the organizations that we were allowed to work with. Since they have been heavily involved with the exploration of the previously unknown systems we thought it would be a logical choice to offer an partnership with them. And it has also been a fruitful cooperation. SOE has been contracting in researchers from already established biotech firms including the ones you mentioned and in return for data, in the end benefitting us all.
The roles of the original autopsy team has been changed and it is now mostly scientists under us who are doing the hands-on work. Dr. Tetua's and Ms. Askold's roles have dimished while my role is primary overseering the research. Mr. Moros' expertise is mainly engineering and he covered the cybernetics themselves as well as the exosuit in the autopsy. He can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that he proceeded to your projects in order to get a deeper understanding of the Drifter technology and draw parallels as it is still within our beliefs that the connection between their physiology and mechanics is a crucial part of technology.

Now that you're no longer under NDA, Ms. Starsurge, I'd be very interested in having your participation in ARC research projects. That's to say, if you're interested in getting your hands dirty again...?

Could be a great opportunity. And after months of absence from flying I have an ithc for feeling my metal body again.

Yep, just what we needed! Artificial Inferno Boosters! Which is great actually, since I was running dangerously low on the stuff, and getting the dosage right is a pain!
And to top it off, side-effect free. Lovely! |
