I have to admit, I have missed it. The first moment flying out of the station in my Wolf was almost magic.

Remember that magic feeling. Treasure it. Hold it with you always.
Then sell the Wolf and buy something called a "Svipul." Oh, and an interceptor. Interceptors are your new best friend. Second only to the Svipul. I don't know what you people call an interceptor. Yours is some ugly thing, as I recall. |

Stilleto? Claw?
A Minmatar warship is like a rusting Beetle with 500 horsepower Cardillac engines in the rear, armour plating bolted to chassis and a M2 Browning stuck on top.

I had an interceptor, a Claw (and it was gorgeous, btw). While flying around, I saw these things I had not seen before, Circadian Seekers. I decided to engage them, because they were flying close to my home station. As I proceeded to attack these strange ships, suddenly my interceptor exploded around me. Victim of one of those sleeper battleships. Lost a good ship and a good crew that had been with me for some time. Made a mental note to avoid those things going forward.
As for the Svipul, I do want one. I plan on getting one soon. Very soon.

Nothing wrong with a wolf, svipuls are pretty good though. Still prefer wolves but that's probably just sentimental value at this point... |

Totally not biased here, but I've heard that Worms are the best. Why fly a rust bucket when you can use the superior choice?

Fly Guristas ships, gosh darn it! Worms are great, though I have little experience with them. They're a different animal completely when it comes to tactics though. The svipul and wolf are relatively similar, depending on application of course. |

From a pure combat efficiency standpoint, you can't beat the Worm. I'll just have to grudgingly admit that it's stubborn sentiments that keeps me from flying them nearly exclusively in that size class, as I've never particularly enjoyed indulging in flying 'cancer tier' ships.
The exception I'll make is the Svipul, as it simply ticks off all the boxes on my list of things I enjoy. Adaptable tank, high firepower, great speed, two utility slots that allows for all manner of fun and even with all that it still remains a simple straight forwards combat ship without the cheese nonsense of Garmurs, Worms, Keres and so on.
If you wish to try a more balanced frigate tier ship, the Fleet Vigil can be very fun. Adaptable enough to allow for both scram kiting and outright brawling, without being overpowered in any significant way. When cleaning the pocket of farmers though, nothing beats a Navy Maulus. Five stabs? Say hello to eight points of scram from two sixteen kilometer warp scramblers. For a more outright combat fit, one scram and a web on top of it. Nasty piece of hardware. |

Last very night, I thought to myself "Mummy, there is clearly a God, because only a God could have created something as magical as You." Of course, I think that often.
Sometime after thinking that, I thought, "while it is true Other Rabbit would withdraw into a dark, mostly artificial little boy mood, perhaps you should investigate alternate zombie carapace cracking utensils."
The Gila just reminds me too much of a water bird diving for fish... and I was never a good swimmer.
But the shortened long is: no, alternate zombie carapace cracking utensils are poor substitutes for marine poultry. |

I thought the Navy vigil was mainly an ewar platform, then again I honestly haven't looked at it yet, that or I'm confusing it with something else. I'll have to take a look at it more closely....

It's got a web range bonus, nothing too fancy. Useful as a fleet support ship, or as a solo combat vessel both. My preference is a brawler ab/scram fit, but that actually sort of ignores the real usefulness of the web range bonus which comes more into play in a MWD, longpoint, web and Javelin rockets kite fit. More vulnerable if you get caught in scramrange though, which is all too often in my particular neck of the woods.
These new Navy/Fleet versions of these frigates aren't quite the same as the EWAR platform equivalents, but more combat oriented and better in solo combat than their pure EWAR siblings. You still won't catch me flying ECM boats though. Relying on dice rolls and cheese just rubs me the wrong way. ISK efficiency and kill ratios matter little compared to getting some actual fights, win or lose.
I'm just rather surprised my Typhoon remains alive after all these weeks. Even bringing it into the large plexes in the neighboring AmarrMil staging system doesn't seem to get it killed. I guess I won't be losing it until another pirate gang breaks out the Vargurs and Machariels again. |

Ya, I'm definitely looking into them when I get back in a few days from my, lets just say vacation.... Cant wait to come back with my new toys. They're sounding like they might be a viable option for me though, Fleet Vigils I mean.
I'm not really surprised they haven't come out to deal with your Typhoon though. Blame it on their false bravado, or their aversion to being dropped on. That or maybe their fear they might actually lose a ship. |

Oh I wouldn't go so far as to paint all of AmarrMil yellow. That vexes me whenever I see it on either side. "Runmatar" they yell, and I can barely get someone to stay and fight when I enter a plex in a mid tier frigate. "Risk averse cowards!" our side yells, and someone comes along to throw their Myrmidon at my Typhoon, twice, when there's other MinMil in system as well.
Every side in the proxy wars have false bravado, aversion against being dropped on, or suicidal tactics, and a fair amount of cheese deployed vigorously. I try to avoid it if at all possible, but so do some pilots on the other side. Some of the bravest and most skilled pilots I've ever fought fights for the 24thIC, just like some of the bravest and most skilled pilots I've flown alongside carries the blue star. The same applies on the other side of the spectrum. Plenty of cowards, blowhards and ego-stroking arses on both sides.
Reserve the **** talking for individuals who have earned it, not an entire group of pilots spanning every spectrum you care to apply.
Not that fighting for the Amarr isn't pretty much a flat out statement of moral and ethical bankruptcy as long as the Empire persists in their barbaric customs and culture, but that's another discussion entirely and not related to their combat prowess. |

I'm not trying to paint them all the same way, but if your referring to the system I'm thinking of, both times I flew with Hash in the min mil unless we had a fleet we had to practically beg them to do anything about anything bigger than a destroyer. Even a fleet wouldn't catch a response a good amount of times. |

She went planetside for a few days, so she won't be responding to this. This does sound like something she grumbled about when she ordered more hardware, losing a ship when she was winning the fight because of a complete desync. Something about sockets and punches and stuff I don't have much experience with.
Should happen more often though, clearly it makes things rather profitable for me.
