Hey all im having trouble making a Retriever with a good tank in .7 space. I am using a mimar alt and im currently using a shield tank. And ive lost about 3 of the Retrievers. I was wondering if any has any setups to help me out? Im in an Angel belt.... So i may have to move. Any one have any sugestions? It would need to tank about 4-6 angel fighters at one time.

The simple answer is, you cannot tank a retreiver.
I would suggest taking the time to get into a mackinaw, as that is a dedicated ice mining ship. If that is not what you want, then try getting into a covetor, it is a little tougher and can usually last long enough for your drones to kill any rats.

With drone level 3 and scout drone level 3 you should be able to handle .7 just fine. I was in .6 and .5, without a shield extender or booster.
Just get your specific drones and maybe even somehigher drone skills and you can do it even better.

Im currently training for a mackinaw. But im about 40 days short. :( Was looking for something to help out till then thanks! :)
My think is im trying to do this without drones... Witch is probibly killing me :(

drones are teh miners friends.
put them out, forget about them, they automatically attack rats

With leaving your drones out, you need to be careful not to let them be targetted first and get destroyed.
The problem there is your lock range, you cannot set them to attack what you can't lock and their team work sucks when one of their own is being attacked.
But, as one of the above posters say, drones are your friends and your only real defense against rats, you can't tank and mine at the same time in the retriever except in the lightest of spawns.
I would suggest you carry 5 light combat drones to suit your enemies. Skill dependant, you should be able to handle rats down to 0.5 space if you're quick off the mark in attacking the right targets. Below that and it'll not be the NPC's that will be your primary concern!
When you get into exhumers, you can field mining and combat drones as the situation requires.
Whilst you were hoping to not have to use combat drones, consider that amount you're losing per retriever against the loss in revenue of losing mining drones out of your yield equations.
I might suggest an armour repper in one of your lows and a cap battery or recharger in your mid if you can fit it. Your shields will naturally replen between spawns so it's only really hits to your armour and hull you need to worry about and you're just buying yourself time till your drones have done their work.
