How do I turn off the 'recurring' part of my Eve Online subscription? I was shocked when CCP changed it to that without my consent, and with some of the changes lately I want to decide if I keep playing or not.
I looked through 'Account Management' and while it says I am on a recurring plan, I can't for the life of me see how to turn that part off???? |

I'm not sure I want to do that yet, but I am paying by 6-months and don't want to be auto-charged. When i started the charge wasn't recurring at some point CCP changed it without telling me. I just want to turn that off.

You turn it off by cancelling the subscription. You still have the gametime you have purchased, but you will not be charged again when your gametime ends.
In the reason for cancelling you can even put 'to cancel recurring payment' as a reason. |

as Archibald said:
* You paid 6 months (this gives you 6 months worth of game time) * You cancel the subscription (subscription = you will billed at a recurring rate. A non-recurring subscription doesn't exist, if it is a one time thing it's called a payment).
This means that in 6 months your account goes inactive and you will be reminded through a mail, at which point you can sub again for the next payment or not.
It's not that hard.

Its always surprised me in some ways that CCP hasnt made it quite clear that cancelling your sub doesnt actual mean that you are cut off immediately when you do like most other things you cancel in life but that you keep the remaining paid for game time. Even a disclaimer would suffice.
But alas I guess it is a scare tactic imo to get people to not touch it in fear that theyll lose what they just paid for.

I also cancelled my subscription when I changed credit cards. |

For future payments, at least at the moment in the UK, selecting Amazon from the Other Payment methods bit doesn't support recuring payments so this is how I have been doing it for accounts I don't want to auto renew. |

OP, as you might not trust the answers - I confirm they are true. Canceling your sub does not result in losing paid game time.

Cancel Subscription means you still get to play for 6 months (or whatever they charged you for last time) but they won't charge you again.
In addition, you can add gametime via PLEX, or even activate a 3-month subscription and cancel it right after, and you'll be able to play for 6 months + 1 month, or 6 months + 3 months, respectively.
The only way to lose login access during the 6 month period that you've already paid for, is to do something illegal and be banned. |

Same with most games.
I sub for a month, and at the same time cancel it so I don't forget to later. |

Sorry, didn't read every reply, but you can just submit a petition or ticket or whatever it's called. The GM turned off my recurring subscription for me within 24 hours I think. He said there's a way to do it in Account Management, but I haven't checked. I suspect account issues get Priority 1 handling.
