It's not about adding more combat to the game. People don't need flags if they want to shoot. They do it already within the existing mechanics.
Flags are to keep others safe, because they don't want to be shot at. Totally, stupid carebear proposal.
Edit. Look at your own proposal where you mentioned flags. It was totally about not needing wardecs if flags are available. It's totally a 'let the pvpers have their pvp and leave everyone else in peace' approach. Screw that. No one is safe in this game, as soon as their ship undocks. |

Aren't you proposing a flag to enable pvp.
No different to a wardec (which is also a flag), or a dual (which is a flag for legal pvp).
All you are doing is suggesting something that allows free pvp between players that want to pvp. Wardecs, duals and freindly fire flags already provide that.
Go post your proposal in F&I. I'm sure it'll receive a really warm welcome.

Even if I was in highsec, there's nothing stopping you shooting me except your own fear of consequence.
Aside from which you're proposal would have no impact on, since you'd only shoot me in highsec if I flag myself. So you either need to use existing mechanics, or not shoot. Doesn't add much. |

Agreed.
But why should there be multiple consequences for something so fundamental to the game? And limited options available to everyone?
If more people (like me) did combat, more people would feel prepared to leave Highsec. And learn to accept losses without fear.
More combat options should NEVER be a bad thing for Eve. |

Except the freighters of the non PVP corps with all their valuable goods. If you want fights why attack a freighter that can't shoot back?
Simple truth: You don't understand EVE's economic! Without all these shiny freighters and the carebear miners how will you get your ships/modules etc? If they stop to mine ore worth trillions of Isk each month you will have to do it yourself while some other guy is polishing his laser because now YOU are a shiny target. Try to mine your own Mercoxit without getting shot.
This is not WOW or any other game where the items are created by the computer but by players that you want to kill. If you want to have an impression what you are asking for try to mine for 2 days in Non-Sov Null and post the results. Doesn't matter if you mine just veldspar but the number of lost ships. And then tell us if you think that this would be fun for anyone who will pay money to mine the ore for your new machariel. Because otherwise you will have to do it yourself.......have fun! |

As for mining in NPC null, it's quite easy and safe with the right precautions. That's how I get most of my minerals for manufacturing and there is nothing difficult about mining in null. |

Sounds okay to me, I volunteered to PvP. I can do the same to you. Nobody said combat is fair
edit. This combat option just makes it much less convoluted to pew. And way easier to find a willing opponent. |

The question stands: why do you want to fight people that don't want to? If just got shot out of my ship in Null with my loot. Made a mistake, will learn from it. I accept it! But why do you want to battle people that can't or don't want to shoot back? You have Nullsec, why do you need High-Sec too?
It's not for the fight because these people can't give you a good fight. So it is either for the loot or the fun in grieving other players. In Null you have thousends of players willing to fight you but you want these thousends that don't want to: why? Eve is still there after 10+ years because it has contend for everyone. From the miner, PvE ratter to PVP players. Do you really think eve would survive only with PvP players making it just another space shooter? Or does just the mixture of all these playstyles make EVE the fun game it is? |

all of you are attempting to seek a balance, or level of fairness, to the war dec system.
point 1) EVE IS NOT FAIR. never has been, never will be. please embrace this concept with open arms.
point 2) Eve is a game of wealth and power. most of the posts here relate to a few pilots's concerns about being "powerless" against larger corporations or mercs. welcome to eve. you are jealous about a corporation, or alliance, being able to accomplish their goals and realizing it is now more difficult to accomplish yours. they have what you don't have.....wealth and power. as such, many want to restrict/limit this imbalance in an attempt to make things equal. please see point 1. however, the game provides "the little guy" with tools to become "the big guy". that's called the ally system.
point 3) in a feeble attempt to "make things fair", there have been suggestions about skill based war dec queues. seriously? if anyone trained every skill available it would take over 20 years to accomplish. you want to add another one? in real life the over abundance of law creates bureaucratic red tape which delays things getting done. wouldn't a new skill delay what needs to be done? yes, it would.
point 3) what makes eve so good is the lack of "rules". let's try to keep it that way.

Was on before downtime. Yes, there are skill injectors. But skills aren't the problem. The issue is how players won't find solutions to their in-game problems. They want "government" to do that for them. There are many solutions available to players before war comes their way & after war arrives. |

Also, you can catch many in 'neutral' Concord space in the middle of Gallente space for exemple.

A skill for this was suggested.
As no one has this skill, there's nothing to extract. Nothing to inject. The skill would have to be trained. That takes time. |
