My fish pie went down a treat when I made it. Technically it's less baking and more cooking with some pastry, but that still counts right..?

On the subject, any good recipes for deserts to serve at dinner? Nothing overly complicated or fancy, just nice will do.

I love freshly baked bread. It's such a delight to all the senses and like most delights, quickly becomes stale and boring.

Who knew? I was under the assumption you were an amorphous blob composed of gin and self loathing.
Not sure how to add 'talented maker of sweet treats' into the mix...
What fills the soul?
Something that guides a lost child back to it's parents arms.
Or waves that dye the shores of the heart gold.
A blessed breath to nurture life in a land of wheat.
Or the path the Sef descend drawn in ash.
In the wake of fire.

The only beans I care about are coffee beans.
That said, my coffee grounds had been turning up on my buns for quite some time now. It is oddly delicious.

I should probably find more productive hobbies.

Beware the Cake of Heresy !
Molok the Deceiver was the first, to bake the Cake of Heresy.
For Molok saw the Bread of Righteousness made by Amash-Akura, and was envious.
"Man cannot live on bread alone !" said Molok, and gathering his followers, set about creating the Cake.
Taking the Grain of Truth, and twisting it into the Flour of Lies, using the Mill of Avarice, Molok and his Followers then baked it with the Butter of Falseness, the Eggs of Doubt, and the Sugar of Envy, and formed the Cake. Filling the cake with the Jam of Hate, and icing it with the Icing of Platitudes.
The Cake of Heresy amazed all who saw it, save for the Righteous, who recognised it for what it was.
The Followers of Molok consumed the Cake, and this led to their undoing. The Cake of Heresy is a minute on the Lips, a lifetime on the Hips.
For the Cake causes fatness of the soul. Well, fatness of the soul's thighs anyway. And so, the Followers of Molok became chubby and unfit.
The Emperor Amash-Akura saw the Cake and saw it for what it was. Taking up the Spork of Inquisition, he smote the Cake, slicing it in twain, revealing the inner Jam of Hate to all.
"Lo, what an unrighteous Cake", said Amash-Akura. And all who saw it were Amazed, and Rejected the Cake of Heresy, preferring the Bread of Righteousness, or the Loaf of Asceticism.
And Molok and his followers were sacrificed to God. And God was Pleased.
And when Molok's followers knocked on the door of Paradise, the Sefrim guarding the doors saw their chubby thighs, and said "You're not getting in here like that", and turned them back, and there was a great wailing and gnashing of teeth amongst them, for they would never enter Paradise.
And Molok himself, and the Beast, will say "Follow Me! For my Exercise Plan will allow you too to be thin enough to enter Paradise".
But it is LIES !
For the Followers of Molok were made to Run, as the Beast chased after them, and though the fat fell off them as they ran, it was not enough, and though their flesh shrivelled till they were nought but a skeleton, they were still forced to run. And eventually they faded into nothingness, and never entered Paradise.
Only Molok and the Beast remained, outside of Paradise, where they continue to torment sinners, that consumed the Cake of Heresy.
Such is Written.
Reject the Cake. Consume the Bread.

I don't see why we can't have both bread and cake! Leave it to Dufus Kim to derail my thread within a few posts, though. I'm fond of small, tart berries baked in sweet pastries. The contrast in flavors is just the most scrumptious!

I once raised a whole field of pumpkins on a friends unused farmland. Pumpkins are an ancient plant but the ones on Intaki get really huge.
By the end of that year I had pumpkin pie down to an art.
Heck I even made beer out of the stuff. My cousin Zeke made some shine from it too (just about everybody on Intaki has a relative who knows how to build a still). Once I drank too much of it, or maybe I did - even Zeke don't know how strong he makes it, and I passed out in a ground vehicle and later woke up at night but I thought I wet-graved and freaked.
Good times. Just don't drink with my cousin.
