Hey all, I was looking at warfare links while using drones against a target. Do the links give the same benefit to your deployed drones?
Also, do they buff your ship as well?
Not sure on the rules with this, i.e., do I need to have a fleet formed, do I need to be set to the fleet booster, can this all work in a solo fleet environment. ty in advance. |

- The boosting ship must be piloted by a player (either an alt or friend) - Be in a fleet of more than 2 - The player/ship providing the boosts must be in a "leadership" position (Squad Leader, Wing Leader, Fleet Leader, etc) OR has been manually set as the Squad Booster - The Warfare Links ship can only provide boosts to people in the same system as it is - Cannot be in warp - Cannot be docked in station - Cannot be within POS shields
Basically... you can't slap on a Warfare Link to your ship and get bacon. You actually need to be working with others to get the boosts.
Conrad Makbure wrote:edit: so I found a 15 month old post saying that drones don't get the booster bonuses, I'm guessing nothing has changed since then? Correct.
And bear in mind that there is credible talk from the DEVs that Warfare Links will be moved to "on-grid only." So don't get too caught up in the idea of having your very own Off-Grid Warfare Links.
How did you Veterans start?

2 are enough confirming 2 are enough.
both ships need to be in space in the same system in the correct positions in the fleet window
obviously the boosting character needs to have the requisite skills which i advise caution on committing training.

They are fleet assistance modules, so only work in fleets (2 + people).
Keep in mind that position in the fleet and skills do matter.
Boosting works top down in a hierarchy of a fleet.
So a person who is in Squad Commander position AND has the skills to provide support of the size of a squad (each level here = 2 people in the squad) can pass down boosts on itself + the squad members in that squad.
The squad commander can assign anybody in that squad to be the booster, but the commander itself MUST have the skills to support the squad size.
You can take the above, and use this for Wing commander too (each wing can have 5 squads (1 per level trained)), or Fleet commander (5 wings, 1 per level).
Also keep in mind, there can't be gaps.
So if you have a Fleet Commander + Fleet boosts but you don't have a valid Wing commander (not assigned or not in system and in space with you) the entire wing doesn't receive the fleet boosts as it isn't passed through. *Same also counts for Squad commander*
