Edited by: Jessamine on 12/02/2007 22:55:18 Okay, I currently have a BPO that takes 2 hours to make 1 item. I would like to know how much this is reduced for each level of PE on the blueprint. Additionally if it has a stacking penalty with a Rapid Equipment Assembly Array. I looked all over but everytime someone says PE they're talking about the skill.
Edit: I'm currently training Research to L3 from L2 which I assume makes the productivity research faster. The base 'Research Productivity Time' is 15 hours; also I will be doing the PE research in a POS lab. I believe that makes a difference but I can't find the amth for that either.

I don't know how much time each level of PE reduces production time by. I am pretty sure its one of those incremental percentage things where at a certain point its pointless to research the PE any farther cause you are only shaving a few seconds off at most. I always just research my BPOs to PE 10.
It does not have a stacking penalty with the Rapid Equipment Assembly Array. Also, the industry skill reduces the time it takes you to build something.
The research skill improves the time it takes to do PE research. The metallurgy skill improves the time it takes to do ME research. A POS lab does research 25% faster than station lab slots, i.e., takes 75% of the time, in addition to whatever skills you have. ----------------------------------------------------

Update: Initial Time to Produce on BPO was 150 minutes w/ industry V it was 120 minutes
so...
PE 0 = 120 PE 1 = 108 PE 2 = 104
(It's in PE research until I can get back to my playing computer on monday at which time it will be PE 10) I wish I had time to do it in one ofs, but 12 hour research times make that hard. I will post the final PE and attempt to extrapolate a PE formula from that but I feel like someone must have done this already (maybe not since PE doesnt matter to anyone except T2 manufacturers.

***WARNING: Math Ahead**** Here is the equation as I use it: blueprintProductionTime(Base) * (1 - (blueprint.ProductModifier / blueprintProductionTime(Base)) * (PElevel / (1 + PElevel))) * (1 - (0.04 * IndustrySkill)) ------

Okay so I'm a bit confused (its math of course)
Base time = 120 minutes Product Modifier = ? (dont know what that means)
So:
120 * (1- (bpm/120)) * (10/11)) * (1-(0.04 * 5)) = 98.166
(Its at PE 10 and has a 98m 10s prod time now)
So... whats a product modifier?

I don't do much PE but here is some advice.
If it takes 2 hours at Production Eff 5 you will always pay for 2 hours, if you're building one of them. I use my little Excel Spreadsheet I made to give you the numbers, These numbers are in Seconds starting from PE 0 all the way to PE 50
7200 PE0 6480 PE1 6240 PE2 6120 PE3 6048 PE4 6000 PE5 5965 5940 5920 5904 5890 5880 5870 5862 5856 5850 5844 5840 5835 5832 5828 5825 5822 5820 5817 5815 5813 5811 5809 5808 5806 5805 5803 5802 5801 5800 5798 5797 5796 5796 5795 5794 5793 5792 5792 5791 5790 5790 5789 5788 5788 PE50.
As you can see from PE0 to PE5 you're saving 20 minutes, but from PE5 to PE50 you're only saving an additional 3 minutes and 32 seconds. So for 2 hours it's kinda pointless to be beyond PE5, (Actually I doubt that 48 seconds is worth the PE Research time, let alone 2 minutes difference for PE3)
PE is really designed for Ammo or Mass production of quickly manufactured items. Ammo usually takes 2 minutes to manufacture, but no one makes just dose 1 run of ammo. They do 1,000, 10,000, or even 100,000 runs. Which takes months even at 2 minutes a run. So PE really cuts the time down. PE5 at 100,000 on a product that take 2 minutes per run saves 28 days (Almost a month) so it's worth it on things like that.

the product modifier is a number taken from the data files. its either 12, 24, 120, 240, 1200, 2400 probably depending on what type of item your making. I dont know which are which right now cause this file has nothing but numbers in it. ------
