Hi.
While browsing the contracts I found an interesting one. A guy sells a Dominix blueprint for just 2.5 mil. buyout. But I don't know if it's not only a copy.
The "Offered Items" section looks like this. ----------------------------------------------------- Dominix Blueprint x 1 [i] Blueprint / Battleship Blueprint BLUEPRINT COPY - Runs: 1 - Material Level 10 - Productivity Level 0 -----------------------------------------------------
Is he selling just a copy?
Thanks you for your help.

Am I missing something?
"BLUEPRINT COPY" seems like a pretty clear indicator, and ME10 @ 2.5M is about the market rate for a Dominix BPO.

I was not sure if the line "Blueprint Copy - Runs:1" indicated that this is a copy. By the way in the verge vendor region, where I'm currently in, the blueprint for a Dominix is at avg. 560.000.000.00 ISK and the Dominix itself is about avg. 60.000.000.00 ISK
Are you getting the point know?

A BPO has infinite runs and can be researched / copied A BPC has limited runs, cant be copied and cant be researched and is therefore worth a lot less.
What you have put is the same for pretty much all other BPO's and BPC's So what exactly was your point?
Shame I cant manufacture the product my corp name implies

I was just wondering. The copy is 2.5 mil. and the product is about 60 mil. That's all. My point here was, because I was not shure that it's a copy or just an indicator or information on how a copy will be used, that 2.5 mil would be extremely cheap for the original.

And thank you for your great comment. That's allways a good way to deal with new players. Especially in EVE which isn't a complex game at all. Making a comment like this just shows that you haven't understood what brains should do. -> THINK
By the way. Great flame and thanks for your help!

Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, feed him for the rest of his life.
Give the man a link to the Internet, and he'll really be preoccupied: http://evefiles.mysterious-mysteries.com/eve-online_science_and_industry_guide.html
Enjoy. :)

It's really quite simple, an original will probably say Blueprint Original, or in the rare case of those really old unlimited run copies, it will probably say something like Blueprint Copy: Runs Unlimited
If you see anything that say Runs: X on it where X is some number, ussually 1-5 for ships, it's a copy.

Just to clarify
Not everyone has 500-600mil to spend on buying a blueprint, especially if all they want to do is make a single battleship. This Blueprint Original lasts forever and can make an infinite amount of ships.
Lets say an average Joe wanted to mine himself a battleship, and build it himself for personal use or for sale.
Now, Joe does not have 500-600mil to buy a original blueprint, and he does not want to give his minerals to someone else to build him one, so what can he do?
What Joe does is simple. He buys a 1 run copy for a cheap 2.5mil. After he build a ship, the 1 run blueprint dissapears. If he wants to build another battleship - he has to buy another blueprint copy.
On the other end of the scale, Mr Moneybanks has bought a blueprint for 600mil isk. He can make as many ships as he has minerals for, however he does not want the hassle of building ships because he does not have cashflow or lacks time/skills to focus on it. He decides that since he has the original blueprint, he puts it in a lab to make copies with.
He then sells each copy for 2.5mil isk so he can at least make money from his investment.
Hope that clarifies things --
