Is there anyway to check if a job is actually going in a lab. We control 3 labs at the moment and the copy slot in one has a 41 day wait on it, only problem is there is no corp job in it and since it's owned by our corp I don't see how someone else could use it. Not really sure what to do about it, any suggestions?...

Edited by: Max Kentarii on 14/02/2007 08:46:36 This happens when someone starts a job and cancels it.
The slot is occupied even though nobody is using it.
As for what to do... think you gotta unanchor the pos lab to reset it. Tell people to stop using that lab, and do the procedure next time the other ME/PE slots are empty. -----

You can also tell people that you can see the logs and can see who the &%#$ canceled a job (not possible but they don't have to know) and that the next one you catch doing it it's gonna get poded by the CEO himself...

So when you cancel a BP research or copy job it still occupies the full time it had left no matter what? Is this how the public BPO labs work? Seems like people could keep them tied up forever just copying and cancelling 100 5run copies. I guess the only option is to take them all offline and lock them up so no one can use them...

Yes, this can happen, except when you cancel a job you do not get a refund of the job cost.

STEP 1: Only CEO, director(s) are given starbase configuration role. Perhaps a few trusted production-related folks, but keeping the circle smaller is better.
STEP 2: Set all mobile labs to role-based, therefore not accessible just by being a corp member.
STEP 3: Profit.
You should only gives rights to people you can trust to handle it, because unless you trust everyone in the corp implicitly, people can grief your POS labs to oblivion with cancelled jobs.
