I have been absent. Haven't played since 2011 or so and even before then on and off. But my account has been active for the past while now just training - when I chose to jump back in but then I stopped again.
I really would love to really get into it. Any suggestion of how to get back into it full on.
How do guys manage it into your days? 2 hours a day?

Options:
1. Continue with your character. 20 million skillpoints is about 1 year of training, and if you start over you'll lose that time. Check your skills, and if you've got the points into support skills and relatively decently trained, there's no reason not to continue.
2. Extract and inject skill points. At 20 million you're in the range where you extract 500k and they become 400k when re-injected; you'll lose some skillpoints but you can re-distribute your points if you absolutely hate what you've trained in the past. The downside is that it costs either ISK or PLEX/Aur to get the skill extractors to start the process.
3. Sell your character or sell your points. Character Bazaar prices are governed by the value of skills (as reflected by the prices of filled-up skill injectors); you could have a great / very desirable set of skills but the character traders will only offer you a price that will make THEM a profit if they strip your character and sell the points. So basically it's better to strip the character yourself and sell the full skill injectors yourself.
Personally I'd pick 1, with maybe a bit of 2 if you have some rough edges to smooth over. It takes a whole year to get support skills (shields, armor, navigation, targeting, etc. etc) to 4, so if you start over you'll basically lose that time.
EDIT: Writing a blog may do it for you, not sure. If you really want to stay in the game, find a corporation to join; there's a war going on right now, and all sides are recruiting / accepting active pilots. There are corporations designed as public fleets (Pandemic Horde, Karmafleet, etc.), or you can apply for a regular corporation in one of the alliances currently at war. Get a couple PLEXes and sell them for ISK so you're set for ship replacements for a while, and go shoot some ships. It's what the game was designed for.
Reddit has a synopsis of the war, and you can get more details at the various news sites (evenews24, themittani, etc.) |

The War....very interesting. Exceptionally interesting.
I really hope to be involved in something like this someday.
As for the options you laid out I haven't even considered thanks for the input. I will definitely consider them all. I will potentially consider starting from scratch just from a climbing up the development ladder. If I go the blog option at least as it would make the posts make more sense (if I want to make it supportive).

This is a character I started to learn about the game. Hence the odd name.
I was going to start a new character when I knew what was going on.
That was over 7 years ago. |

Given the riches of certain shady characters, this is a terrible option. Getting a clean slate on known thieves, gankers, awoxers, and the like, will play hell with Intel and the general Eve player base.
If I've said it once I've said it a thousand times, character renaming is a terrible idea.
On topic, keep the initial char, and you can include the isk making process as part of your blog. It will even give your blog a twist that most others don't have. |

Last post I forgot to mention, you could sell some of the SP to make up some time on the isk grind, skill injectors go for 600 mil or so and the extractor is pretty cheap. |

Could you please explain this to me?
Of all the skills in my current library all are Level 4. It's almost disgusting when I think about it.
All I know is clones no longer are a thing - its a shame I think this was one of the most unique aspects of EVE. |

There is no reason that this needs to be a choice that you have to make or ruminate over. If you feel a need to start over on a fresh character you can do that. Then if after getting back into the game and remembering how to play you decide that you would rather have your old player with the more skills you can switch back.
If however you like the new one better and want to stick with that you can.
There is no requirement that you do anything with the higher skill point character. It can just sit there not being used until you want to use it or do what ever.
As far as selling that character or extracting it's skill points if that ever becomes an issue you can worry about it at that point.
This is a game just do what ever is fun. There is no need to plan things out and come up with a 5 year and 10 year plan or look for the best RoI or anything of the sort.
TL;dr It does not have to be one or the other. |

Buy skill extractor for ~200 mil , use to inject 500k of your skill points into it and turn it into skill injector, sell for 600 mil. Basically 800 mil isk profit per 1'000'000 of your skill points. |

Exactly what I was going to write.
This character was my starter, and I have - as Tau Calabander notes - tried pretty much everything and have a fairly scattered skill set. The great thing about Eve is there's no skill total limit so it matters not a whit if I retain skills I don't use. Skyweir has developed as an industry character and this is now the focus. (Note that I'm primarily an RPer, so like to have a certain consistency in why my character is doing things. Most people couldn't care less).
However, I've wanted to get more PvP experience in combat. (I enjoy the cat-and-mouse PvP that a hauler/miner has to do, but it's not the same as being an aggressor or in fleets). So I have stared a new character for that purpose. Though I have about eight months previous Eve experience (not much, but enough to fool myself I have the occasional clue) starting a brand new character focussed on the skills for PvP and joining a corp skilled in that aim has been a revelation. I've enjoyed myself hugely as a low-skilled character, learning what to do, the limitations I have, and the camaraderie of the damned. Dying, dying, dying, with no concern at all (much less the case when you're trying to get fat isk to market!)
And Skyweir is still around for industry and trade etc. Best of all worlds.
Humanity has won its battle. Liberty now has a country.

1.5m-2m sp/month which equates to 3 , maybe 4 injectors. You have to have over 5m SP to extract skill points into extractor though. |
