...Logging of aside...
How do you get AROUND warp bubbles in a non exploit tactical way?
Or is having the ability to put out warp bubbles an I win button?
I used to get around gate camps in ways like wait a ways off until the campers are attacking someone else, stuff like that. But I would not want to log off to avoid a bubble, so IĈm asking.
The reason I would not want to log is that it is unrealistic and therefore not fun to me. Bubbles to protect an area are cool but using them to just gank would be of no use to me because it is not worth the effort.
But really if this was real, borders would be locked up with no hope of entering a hostile system with out a full army attack.

If it's just one bubble, yu can always try to warp in from a different point, since bubbles are deployed to catch people coming from a certain gate or station... but if it's a bigger camp with several bubbles and many ships, you'l either have to wait, or go around through another system... -----------------------------------------------

a neat little trick i heard but havent tried yet was to hit mwd, then turn it off, hit cloak, and let your ship glid out. wont work in large bubbles obviously...

Edited by: Xiator Z on 15/02/2007 05:01:20 If you have nerves of steel, you can burn right through the bubble to the gate.
Warp to 100 of the gate, orbit with mwd on till you find a good opening where no ship that has a you trageted will be 10km or closer to you once you go for it, then, for your daring dash, head straight for the gate and jump.
Course you need a very fast ship for that.
Has been done and works. But risky of course.

Depends on the bubble. If it's a large placed right on the gate then your only option is to burn through it and hope you make it to the gate before you die. Same with medium really, though it's obviously easier. If it's a dictor bubble you wait until it dies then warp immediatly, if you can start warp before he drops a new one you'll warp to the gate like normal.
If it's not on the gate you can try to warp in from a different angle to get around it.

Interceptors that might be sitting in the middle of the gate wont be able to lock and web you in time, if you are fast enough.

wont work if a bubble is placed directly on a gate and u choose to warp to the gate u will not come out of warp at 100km, ul infact be sucked into the very edge of the bubble. this happend to me a few times when i was scouting with an alt. at first i thought i must of accidently clicked warp to 0 but i did it again and it i ended up about 20km away from the gate and on the edge of a bubble.

If you're in system and there's a bubble on the gate, be at a point where you can warp to the gate from the side or no one blocking your path. Also, the easiest would be in a ship that can use the covert ops cloak, warp to the gate, and approach undetected. Unless you are within 2k of an object or ship. De cloak and jump through.
Another tactic is to use an interceptor and warp to the gate, initiate mwd, and jump as soon as possible. Any web used won't work unless a bubble was placed farther off the gate.

Thanks for the info, that gives some fun tactics to the game.
Maybe I'll try with cheap ships to practice 1st but I have not been able to come across them as of yet.
Maybe not so many people have the skills yet or they are more worth the use in real war zones like 0.0.
I'm sure I'll find out there will be more and more WB's as time goes on.

They can only be anchored in 0.0. The big ones are scary huge and you are better off running back to the gate than trying for the edge if you run into those.
The ones you really have to look out for are those put on a vector to the gate but a fair distance off. You get pulled into the bubble and tackled way too far to dash for the gate. I remember getting sucked 30km past the gate while I was doing a Prowler run. Pretty cunning as I had to pull a 360 to get back to the gate (or to warp to anythign else for that matter). Of course the Prowler is agile and fast so the two geddons camping the gate managed only one volly before I jumped. If I had been in a Mammoth it would have been touch and go.
The furthest from a gate I have snatched someone with a bubble was about 80km.

I burn gates pretty often.
Fit a T2 MWD. Drop your lows with 2x Stab and the rest Nano\Inertias. (Should be the standard for 0.0 Travel alone anyway imho). If you've got huge balls, replace the stabs with more Inertia\Nano.
Now for tactics:
The moment you get through the gate, find the nearest celestial object that takes you out of the bubble. (i.e the one that points in the direction closest the edge of the bubble). Then just burn towards it spamming your warp button.
Easier way is just to MWD like all hell back to the gate, but if you really want to get through the above can do it.
As for getting past a bubble camp when warping to it, meh that's tougher. Depends a lot where the bubble is placed. Most likely you're fried.

Easiest way to beat a bubble camp is to make a disposible alt and send it ahead of you to see if the way is clear.. This is harder to do with a single account but as the majority of bubble camps are at the chokes to 0.0 its easy enough to preposition an alt there and then log into your main if its clear.. Otherwise the previous recommendations are the way to go..

Oh yeah that is why I have not seen them, I have not been in 0.0 for a while.
You know what I would do is scan ahead to the other gate I wanted to warp to to see if anything was in the path and then maybe come from a different angle.

Mmmh, know it got mentioned but that definately isnt the case. back before warp to zero I warped to 15k within a gate and a small bubble made me overshoot the gate by 30k.

Easy, no, and not true.
Getting around warp bubbles is easy in so far as you need to do your research. People don't just go into combat and win, they plan out their fit first and take on targets they know they can beat. An assfrig with NOS, mwd and missles will take down a turreted cruiser no probs, but will get it's ass kicked by a cruiser using missles, drones and a target painter. Do your research, they aren't permanently manned, and if they are, go a different way or wait till later. Covops are in game for a reason, and dont take much skilltrain time to fly. And if you're not sure about the jump, scout through in a shuttle first. Clones are easier to replace. Fitting Implants? Then dont think about 0.0 unless you're part of the team.
Warp bubbles arent an I win button, since they're only of use if people are manning them. Once again, if you cant get a crew together to equal the strength of the campers, then you either dont have the power to survive in 0.0 yet or you dont belong there anyway. Otherwise, wait till later.
I travelled through space often where an alliance 'frequently' held bubblecamps to stop people coming in. I would say 4/5ths of the time i travelled through there was no bubble, and ganksquads are easy to avoid with a good travel fit.

I use my 10km/s ares for blockade running and have yet to lose one to a bubble with the single exception of a CTD the moment I came out of warp in a bubble. Normally at 10km/s you can either hit the gate in 2s or so (my ares accels to 8km/s in probably 1.5s). Its easy to either get to the gate before getting hit, or just flying out of the bubble, and the side benefit of being in a small inty with lots of istabs is you can warp almost instantly, even going 9km/s in 1 direction, i can do a full 180 and warp in probably 3s max.

There needs to be a non-exploitive way of getting out of them. Not only with fast ships, but with other ships as well. Maybe they can be chance based , or they can be given a warp jam strength . We also need some bonuses for small bubbles, as they are quite usless atm.
Heres an example of chance based bubbles could work
Quote:
Small Warp Bubble I -Chance of disrupt 90% -Anchoring time 30s
Small warp Bubble II -Chance of disrupt 95% -Anchoring time 15s
Med warp Bubble I -Chance of disrupt 80% -Anchoring time 60s
Med warp Bubble II -Chance of disrupt 85% -Anchoring time 45s
Large warp bubble I -Chance of disrupt 70% -Anchoring time 90s
Large warp bubble II -Chance of disrupt 75% -Anchoring time 75s

Fast ships can run away. Tough ships can fight. Transport ships are the target
This seems completely reasonable to me.
We've got warp to zero which only stops *most* gank attempts which lack bubbles(and if you havent fitted stabs/ecm and get ganked on the other side, thats your own fault). ----------------- One word,, emo,,,

Why? The whole point of them is to limit ship movements. Get a fast ship and race through or take a gang and bust the gate camp to punch through.

They are great and fine as is. You can fit a small bubble in the boot of a destroyer, deploy it quickly 80km from the gate in line with another gate and pull people out of warp while you sit ready to tackle and kill or run the hell away if you catch something big. If you have to run it's not that much of a loss.

There's serveral ways to escape a camped bubbled gate if you're in a fleet. I assume you're talking about bubbles on the other side of a gate which you jump into.
1. MWD out of it, some of your gang will die but hey. 2. Blast the campers, you cause enough damage / jamming to the campers and they may well run if you've got enough force present. 3. Destroy a bubble, if you've got enough damage output at short range you can destroy a medium bubble. Large bubbles probably not, shooting at the campers would get better results.

That's effectively what a 6x medium or large bubble with guards is, a strongly militarised border zone. I am an alt. I know my rights, and my dinguses!
