Hey guys, I've been thinking for a while of doing a collection of longer stories (Novel length) about episodes in the empires history. So, for instance, the first reclaiming of the Amarrians against the Udorr nation states or the first Caldari-Gallente war. If anyone would like to co-op with me on these stories or have any ideas of their own, I'd love to hear from you! |

I do like this idea, though I'm not so sure "historical" would be the correct term, exactly.
I would love to contribute, but I tend to work best in first-person fragmented prose.
I do love writing in this universe, though, from the little I have done.

Hey guys, I think this would be a great Idea.
I have been playing EVE now for a few years and I honestly find the lore more interesting than the game. I take it you guys have read the books written by Tony Gonzales and the Eve chronicles found here: https://community.eveonline.com/backstory/chronicles/.
There are some great short stories here, I strongly recommend you take a look if you haven't already. Best of luck.

If this is planned to become a series, then I think what should bind it should be characters, maybe members of an Amarr family, or two families competing on some levels. Some fleshed out, different one from another, grey morality ones and those more idealistic and naive. Something should drive them thru those stories thru the years. Power? Devotion? Honor? Vengeance? Money? Love? Madness? I dont know...

The idea I had was to not so much tell the history of two families, such as the Kador and the Sarum, but to tell the story of the empire. So, for instance the first book would follow the first reclaiming against Udorr. And would have all the elements you mention, politics and intrigue and complexity. The second book might tell the story of the Amarrian conquest of Minmatar, from both sides. And the third the story of the uprising and the disastrous battle between Amarr and the Joves. |

But remember, History is done by people. You will have to write a lot about them. I dont know if EVE Source was such a book you would like to create. Have you read it?

I did read it, it was the section about Amarrian history that gave me the idea of filling in the story behind the first reclaiming. I read it and thought, "holy ****, someone needs to tell that story." |
