I mentioned this in another thread, I'm a newbie player, and just made my character's stats based on a whim, and what i thought was an interesting backstory. I didn't really pay attention to the stats or skills I'd get or not get because of this. As a result, most of my stats are quite low, with the exception of willpower, which is a whopping 19.
I'm still early so I can reroll if necessary, although I do like my ship and I'm having fun. I would like to hear some recommendations on what would be a good thing for me to specialize in, going through my skill list I don't seem to have anything that is uses willpower as a primary atribute. And seeing as I'm on a 14 day downloaded trial, I don't have an instruction manual to reference.

That Willpower is way too high. While it's the secondary attribute for the combat skills, it's not the primary attribute for very many skills. 12 would be the highest I could see being even remotely practical on Willpower, with 10 being better. Focus more on Perception, and to a lesser extent Intelligence.

Willpower will be primary on T2 ships skills such as Assault Ships and Interceptors. It is also secondary to most spaceship command and weapon skills. While it is a usefull attribute, the fact remains that other than Charisma, it has the fewest skills requiring it as primary. Whether or not you want to reroll is up to you, but you should make that discission soon.

i think willpower should be primary for all spaceship command skills. Whereas you need perception to shoot straight you would need willpower to move your ships from inside of the pod :)

A balanced set of stats is generally better. Of course, stats only affect skill training time, not what you can actually train or do. If you are very early and don't mind re-rolling, you will probably benefit in the long run. Also, get your learning skills trained up a bit early on to reduce training time.
You can use the Contract system to give all the stuff from one character to another, if that's holding you back.

What are the learning skills exactly? I'm at work right now, so not in game.

The set of skills in the Learning category are all strictly designed to raise your attributes. Each attribute gets two skills (a rank one and a rank three) that raise the attribute by +1 per level, and the skill Learning adds +2% to your attributes per level.

Learning skills allow you to add maximum 10 points to all of your attributes. Each level you train adds one point. So for example if you plug in and train first level of Iron Will skill, your willpower will effectively become 20 and not 19. This in turn allows you to train other skills quicker that have willpower listed as primary or secondary attribute.
You should train all basic learning skills to lvl 4 (except charisma) before proceeding to training other skills. These are: Iron Will, Analytical Mind, Spatial Awareness, Instant Recall, Learning, and Empathy. After that you can plug in advanced learning skills, but they cost ~4.5 mil ISK per skill so you probably won't have money to buy them right away. Get them as soon as you can however.
Also, go read the skills subforum on the shortest learning skill training sequence and use EVEMon program to help you plan your skills.
