Happy to report upgrade to 1.4.1 was easy.
I thought I'd experiment with the new winetricks since i havent used ubuntu and eve in a few months, and created a prefix for eve. - All Fonts installed as a component to the prefix - Font smoothing fix applied for the prefix
Unfortunately the version of EvE that the "Install Programs" Function in winetricks installs is Tyrannis but one step at a time. I then manual patched from Tyr -> Incursion (after finding where in the love of god the wine prefix drive_c was saved; (/home/USERNAMEHERE/.local/share/wineprefixes/eve/drive_c/Program Files/CCP/EVE if you were wondering)
Renamed the Jukebox folder to YeOldeJukebox as always after a patch and works like a charm.
Issues: (Possible solutions in bold) #1 - Autopatcher still hates wine. - If you have previously renamed the jukebox folder, rename it back (Source) - Try installing the VCRUN2005 or VCRUN2008 files with winetricks (Source)
#2 - Sound on character modification (+creation?) cuts out after 15 seconds.
#3 - IGB unable to display eve gate ingame, while other websites work
Anyone had any other issues? Will collate at the top of the page, and link to any solutions. |

Autopatcher doesn't work on me as well. I have this problem since the patch where everyone got a new character recustomization. I can't even use the patch itself to upgrade my eve client. Everytime new patch out, I have to download the offline client installer to upgrade my client.
Anyone also having the same issues as me? I use wine 1.3.5 on opensuse 11.3 |

Yes, but since I know it do I download the patches manually and do not let the auto-patcher do it. It is only a minor problem to me and I prefer keeping hold of the patches myself actually. Should I need to reinstall EVE for whatever reason do I have them ready. |

go to http://www.eveonline.com/patches/patches.asp and download the relevant offline patch for your client and apply as you would if you were in windows.
Should solve your problems :)
Bit easier than downloading the ENTIRE 3.5ish Gigs every time

for autopatcher issues, you'll need the winetricks install of the vcrun2005 and /or vcrun2008 files.
(with winetricks installed, from a command line run:
sh winetricks vcrun2005 (or whichever version of vcrun is needed.)

I've actually done that before (the 2008 version). But I get another error after that and I haven't figured this one out. The repair tool hangs at 100% and nothing happens. I'm new to wine so I'm not sure how to fix the "fixme" and "not implemented yet!" errors. Does anyone have a link to bug tracker?
--- EDIT --- I downloaded the patch myself from patches and made it executable the first time I ran it, it gave me the same error from the repair tool. I than ran it a second time and it worked just fine. No, need to download the entire offline installer ones more.

Instead of using the autopatcher I always just do the following:
1) rename jukebox folder back to jukebox 2) run the repair tool 3) rename jukebox back to something else
The repair tool always does the upgrade and i've never had problems with it. If your jukebox is renamed when the repair tool runs it will just re-download all of the audio files which is why I name it back first. |

Yeah!
IGB now work on top of https since it's moved on eve-gate soo...
It will require some libs in Wine or thing like that. I never really tried to fix it so I can't tell how. |

The ingame browser works for me on all websites except evegate, leading me to believe it's specifically to do with the https protocol. Is this a bug in the windows client aswell and as such a general bug, or restricted only to Wine?
