So I recently skill jacked up this toon with the sole purpose of freight ganking or industrial ships....haven't gave it a go yet but...what would be the best spots to do so? should I do it right outside of a trading post? should I have an alt to collect the loot? is any of the pros out there that can walk me thru how to do this and profit from the kills? |

Not a pro, by any means, but the answers to your questions are:
1. Where to do it: set an autopilot route between Jita and Amarr (or Jita and Dodixie) and do it in the 0.5-rated solar system the route passes through. Or, as an alternate, set a route from Jita to wherever in 0.0 there's a war going, and do it in the lowest-rated systems in that route.
2. Yes you probably need a neutral alt to take the loot. Combat rules mean you either get destroyed by Concord after attacking, or even if you don't, it's probably better to wait out the various flags elsewhere.
3. For learning, you should probably find a group that does it, and join them. It's often a group affair: the following roles are typically needed: scouts to scan incoming traffic, neutral bumpers, neutral loot gatherer, and multiple DPS in cheap ships (destroyers, battlecruisers, etc). |

Aren't those mostly the result of wardecs between the corporations involved? People simply wait for a red war target to undock and they can engage them no problem?

You came looking for help and got someone who needed it.

Better be a fast neutral alt because my neutral alt is going to blow this wreck up before you even look at it. |

Are you confusing freighters with haulers here?
Gankign a single hauler can be done solo, ganking a freighter is a multi character job |

The best tip is to join a corp that does this, you will learn from them in the field.

1. Find a gate between trade hubs. System security level doesn't matter. 2. Use a Tornado fitted with artillery. 3. Play Blockade Runner Roulette, by one-volleying any blockade runner you see. 4. Use same-corp alt on a second account to scoop anything that drops.
Chances are in the house's favour that will profit from BR Roulette. |
