I hope loyal Amarrians everywhere will join me in congratulating Catiz Tash-Murkon and her champion Kalen Darklight following their victory tonight.
Whilst it is no secret that Catiz was not my first choice at the start of the tournament, I along with loyalists throughout the cluster will pledge formal allegiance to her. I am sure that our new Empress will be a worthy leader of Amarria, and that under her guidance the Empire's fortunes will go from strength to strength. She will both defeat the enemies of the outside and control the enemies of the inside, and just as I supported her predecessors Heideran VII, Doriam II and Jamyl I, so shall I support her.
All Hail Empress Catiz of Amarr!
Long live the Empress!

Though I fought for Chancellor Kor-Azor and will be damn sad to see him go, I completely believe Empress Catiz I will be an extremely good Empress and an exemplary leader for Amarr. The Trials were high-energy and very close - now to wonder when the Coronation will occur!
Congratulations to all involved /Uri

It is as if God choose reason over violence, diplomacy over war, trade and prosperity over bloodshed; as if God wanted to give the Amarr people a mindful and considerate leader to allow them to have a more tranquil period and not one hallmarked by senseless warmongering. A truly great and pleasing to watch championship with astounding finalists and a very worthy winner.

I offer my congratulations to the Empress, and her talented champions. There is much hope across the cluster for a more liberal, reformative and trade focused policy, especially in light of threats external to the established nations which require co-operation.
I also offer condolences on the impending loss of the challengers. What a waste.

Congratulations to Empress-to-be Catiz Tash-Murkon.
If you had told me a year ago, that I'd live to see a progressive Udorian on the Throne, I'd have thought you mad.
But God has spoken and even the most conservative "True Amarr" must now swear faith. I think a part of me would find mirth in this.
However, the Tash-Murkon's were raised up to fill the void left by Khanid. I see in the words of the official proclamation that even now, Khanid, once the proud Kingdom that stood firm against the Empire, is again seen as just a "House" among the others. While this is probably a good move for the Empire, this signals the death of my heritage. I look forward to a Udorian Amarr, but I don't rejoice at the death of the Kingdom.

Congratulations to Lord Darklight and his Retainers on the final victory in this Trial of Fire and Blood. Now is the time for all of Amarr to rejoice in the coming of a new Empress in Lady Catiz Tash-Murkon. Khanid II spent the better part of 300 years doing what no other being in this galaxy could do. He told the Empire to shove it, took a titan and a third of the Navy, carved out his own Kingdom and held the Empire at bay since. He foiled one assassination attempt after another, including one lead by his own brother. The Matari couldn't do that. The Federation couldn't. The Jove wouldn't. He did. He forged the ties that exist between the Empire and the State. He lead the development of new technology, ships like the Anathema. All the while, traitors to his rule plotted "reunification." They pushed, pulled and schemed a way for Khanid to be brought back into the Empire. Eventually, the Kingdom rejoined, but as an ally.
Under Jamyl, relations "improved." Khanid was named to the Privy Council, but again, under his terms.
Then Jamyl died. Stupidly. Needlessly. Imperial hubris killed her as much as the Drifters did. And perhaps it was that same hubris that drew Khanid back to the Throne. He made a case for inclusion and the Empire changed tradition to allow him to compete again.
So Khanid, one of the greatest military minds in the last millenia, now languishes, awaiting the ritual suicide he avoided three centuries ago. His heir states he is ready to carry on a leader of House Khanid...but I see little to indicate that the Kingdom will ever be what it once was. The Kingdom will become an historical footnote. A tourist attraction. And all the people we've killed, all the Khanid who have died for this 300 year-long rebellion would have died in vain. To add insult, the Empress who will reabsorb the "Kingdom" is of the same House that replaced the Kingdom. House Sarum. House Kor-Azor, the others, they lost an Heir. If Khanid the man dies, Khanid the Kingdom dies with him.
Of course...
If Khanid the man does not die...
What then?

I don't know a thing about who's taking over the kingdom, but with three hundred years of defiance and prosperity do you really think they would throw that away? Like us your people fought to free yourselves from their rule (yes obviously it's totally different circumstances I know), throwing that away? For obvious reasons I want the Empire to crumble in ways such as that. Though I'd prefer they turned their guns on them just the act of defiance is amazing to see. I know I shouldn't feel this way since Khanid shoot at mine and myself but I hope they hold up on their own. If anything it'd show the power of their religion to drive enemies together so I don't see why they would want it either. I hope your wrong, but who knows....
