Hello,
In the right click menu objects on the same grid now have approach location above the warp to button. Previously any time an object was at a warp-able distance warping was the first/default option. This change puts the approach option above it making the system just ever so slightly more awkward to use since locations require you to make the distinction of whether or not they are on grid prior to selection.
I fail to see the benefit and I think it is worth switching back.
I hope some of you agree. o7. |

The Approach Location does the exact same thing align does, and there's already an option for that.
Can you give us a "Try the New Align button" under the Experimental Features in the General Settings tab so we have the option to remove this stupidity? |

Put it back the way it was. It made more sense.
You can always assign a HOT KEY for approach if it is important to you.

Approach on something that you cannot warp to. Approach option first on something you can warp to makes no sense at all.

in actual fact, "approach" makes more sense if it's too close to warp too... ie; LESS than 152km
in what universe.. "i can start approaching at 8,000 km cloaked and go for the tackle!!"

and while we're at it, why is there no option to align to a ship?
You should be able to align to anything that's in your overview, and if it's too close to warp to, the option become approach. I feel that "align" is used when preparing to warp. Ships, stations, gates, it shouldn't matter.
Then once aligned, you warp, whether to a gate or to a ship in fleet or probed. But if you are too close to warp.. you approach... JUST DON'T BUMP THE TITAN!!

Well, allow me to back up my opinion a bit further. There is currently no visual distinction between on-grid and off-grid bookmarks and so you can not tell before right clicking on a bookmark whether your first option will be to warp or to approach which means that the menu essentially changes based on which object you click on.
Previously if warping wasn't an option it was removed from the right click menu, I believe that is still the case but now the menu does the opposite placing "approach" as the first action when right clicking an on-grid object that is at a warpable distance. I realize that's confusing but the difference is that you could already approach/align to any object by holding Q and clicking on it which was a much less frequently required action than warping to said objects.
I think it makes sense that the most frequently used option is in the top spot on that menu because timing is extremely important and even an extra second to figure out if the bookmark you clicked on is on-grid or off-grid and where the warp button will be can cost you kills and or ships. |

I like it the way it is now. If I want to approach or align, I click the first option on the menu. Warp is always number 2. If I don't know whether I want to warp or not before I click the button, well, I certainly don't want the game to decide for me.

Well I hope that's true. Also good for CCP recognizing that reddit is more effective than their forums for communicating with the people who play their game lol. o7 |

If I don't know whether I want to warp or not before I click the button, well, I certainly don't want the game to decide for me. I find this absolutely troublesome for a very specific reason: Insta undocks. These bookmarks are not meant to be approached, these bookmarks are meant to be warped to. Everything beyond the threshold of 150km is first and foremost meant to be warped to. Now I need to move my mouse an ever so slightly bit downwards with results in this previously introduced mouse path prediction to go bonkers and sometimes stick with the Approach row and sometimes move on to the Warp to ... row and stick with that, making the very time sensitive warp to your insta undock a lottery game with the devil and not a safety measure.
