Without commenting on the "legalities" of bookmarks or the lag they absolutely can cause if used for that purpose, the idea that "warp to 0" removed the need for bookmarks is silly.
A proper battlefield plan, whether it is at a single gate or for the siege/defense of an entire star system, should include all sorts of bookmarks. BMs like multiple sniper points at each gate, station or POS in a system, the book marks for grid load and for capital support in the case of sieges.
Those BMs made ahead of time and then have to get into the hands of the various wing/gang commanders who will be engaged in warping the parts of the fleet that need them.
Warp to 0 has made the need for each person in the game to have to carry 100000 bookmarks obsolete but it certainly hasn't made the need for having a bunch made and transported in the case of fleet battles.

You can't blame a whole alliance for the actions of 1 dev that did something he shouldnt have and no one in the alliance know about it. If one of your corp m8's gets a sabre bpo out of the lottery, are you going to sit around all day thinking about whether a dev planted it there?

Ok I don't usually take much notice of the anti bob brigade's silly accusations, but this is the most ridiculous "exploit" I've ever heard of.
IF it's true... Why a shuttle, not a cov ops frig or combat ship? Why wasn't he at a SS? Why aren't there BMs on all BoB ship losses?
Bookmarks create lag when they're in people & places, because the client has to calculate no. of jumps etc to each one in case you click it. Now, having them in the hold may create lag for the person shooting you but in that case thol wouldn't have been in a shuttle?
The whole devs thing is getting stupid, y'all should take a look at your leadership to see why the campaign isn't going as well as hoped, don't blame it on some mystical 'dev powers'.
PS this is my main so none of this 'alt' bull**** either.
PPS oops no this is my main lmao didn't know about the whole 'choose char' thing

So you put your strategically important BMs into a shuttle which can not be cloaked and nearly explodes if you look at it intensely? And you let your CEO transport them without any support with your fleet a few systems behind you? So he planned to jettison the cargo in enemy space so that the complete fleet gathers around this container and starts to copy the sniperpoints, savespots etc. floating around in the enemy's space?

Were you able to see what the BM's actually were? Were they Instajump BM's or not?
People here are failing to realise, or intentionally choosing not to realise, that it's quite possible they were tactical BM's. Scan points, safespots, grid load points, etc.
If they were particularly important Tacticals, it makes sense that a BoB CEO was transporting them, especially if some of those safespots in the can (assuming they were safespots etc and not instas) were of a highly important strategic value.
Some more facts would be nice, if available.

As I read this I decided to check and see if I have any of my old BM shuttles still, Lo and behold I did I have some 30 of them with BM's for every region. Plus about 25 ore with tacticals left over from the ASCN/ BoB War, (you remember that war, the one you didn't bandwagon)
So I looked in the holds and lo and behold I found one shuttle with just a bit over 4k BM's.
So I can see how it happens but I guess cause you know everything Tholarium must have been wtfcheathaxploiting.

Everybody seemed to be fairly chill until you showed up. Reminds me of some old quote I heard somewhere "Thou doth protest too much."
The OP didn't make a single excuse for losses. In fact. . .he didn't say who was fighting (other than BOB since the person in question was of that alliance) and he didn't say who won/lost. If you're gonna flame at least do it well. . .or with an alt. Tired of 30 day plus research wait times? Want to produce your stuff faster? Try Liquid Research!! |

One thing to keep in mind: If you had a shuttle filled with a region set of insta-jump bookmarks from post-kali, any bookmarks near a jump gate would have been deleted automatically more than a month ago. They were deleted from your P&P, and from cans/ships/hangers/etc. I had several shuttles filled with regional bookmark sets at the time since I was making them for alliance mates, and have verified this on a number of regions.
So that rules out the claim that it was probably just an old shuttle used for BM storage.
How many were listed in the killmail? Does a killmail with bookmarks show the bookmark name, or just a generic name? If it shows the name, it should be easy to tell if it was 100 copies of crap or a huge set of tacticals. But its not like it matters. It wouldn't really prove anything we don't already know.

this looks terrible at first glance... and at second too...
BoB are being caught out pulling more "questionable tactics" of late. it seems despiration really does drive you mad.
i used to respect bob for their ability to pvp in large gangs and their unwitting tactics (on the battlefield) but lately ive been very disapointed in the way they deal with war. perhaps people should stop looking for exploits and go back to the good old days of, you bring your force i bring mine and we hit each other until one or both of us dies!

Coalition posts over the last few days:
- Open Letter to Coalition Fleet Commanders: Ex-ASCN Defence experts advise Coalitions forces to "hate the game" and remind them that fighting BoB (and CCP) is the holy war, fun shouldn't factor into the righteous Jihad. Coalition troops also advised to play on their own terms and at the same time, always ensure their fleets are thoroughly entertained. Lag hits the node as 200-man fleets Alt-Tab for some multiplater minesweeper. Thread Rated: Two "Dirkas" out of a possible One. Excessive Dirka! - LV Getting Owned: Counter-Propaganda Sister thread to "Coalition getting owned". Polite and impartial requests for further information and hard facts met with "We are like an angry mob with pitchforks! There is your evidence!" Thread Rated: 2 out of a possible 2 bales of hay. - PropaCANda: Curse Alliance deploys. Deploys secure containers that is. The "Anchored assault" tears chunks out of LV Morale in their key systems. Thread accompanied by unedited profanities in later screenshots. Deemed "smacktacular". Thread Rated: 1 out of 1 possible thread locks. Full marks! - Dread killed by afcake: Is it BoB policy to bake? Was it cheesecake? If so, what kind? How does the combination of flour, egg and water factor into BoB's daily tactics? Thread Rated: 2 cups of flour out of a possible ten, could use a little more artificial sweetener too. - Shrike Friendly Fire: Is it BoB policy to kill friendies? If so, which ones? Is it just a term of Fix's rental agreement? Is Avernus simply engaging in forum propaganda when he shrugs off some 15-odd friendly kills? Surely he has to be, as this represents a large portion of the Fix PvP fleet. One Coalition pod allegedly destroyed whilst afk looking up Black Forest Recipes, speculation remains it may have been Mud Cake instead. Thread Rated: 2,000 out of a possible 75,000 Helium Isotopes - Shuttlegate: BoB CEO's Shuttle destroyed with BM's inside. "Now i'm not here to flame or throw accusations" says the original poster, right after asking if exploits are BoB policy. General public take the question at face value, after all it's just a simple honest question. Common sense tells people to not throw accusations around about him posting flamebat hidden as questions, why? Because throwing accusations about without facts is bad ok! Wait a second... Thread Rated: Best ever post about killing a shuttle. Ever. 10/10.

I think the best way to deal with BoB is to give them a cluster of their own (i.e. BoBquility or BoBqularity) and let them play with their toys and exploits for as long as they love. And, now and then we could all participate in stress-tests for that cluster...see if the new crash-lag-exploit-manipulate-cheat-explode-killtitanoffline tactic, actually works!!!!!
And leave the rest of us play the game as it should be...fair and square

we had someone not too long ago get petitioned for being in a shuttle in a fleet battle with a load of bm's they blamed him for causing lag etc...
however what had transpired was we were in a random pipe system which rarely get populated or used, we had a fight with UNL and Twilight Zone, the person in Question lost his battleship, warped to a moon by accident and there was a shuttle sitting there, he jumped in it and flew back and i dont know why but flew back via the fight and some lone inty popped him for it...
shuttle was full of bm's our lad got a slap on the wrist for it. _____________________________________________
