Hey there
I just wanted to ask, why the context menu has been expanded with the "Approach" and "Orbit" option if the destination is on your grid (if the destination is a bookmark you only have the "Approach" option)
We already had the "Align" option which now is the same as "Approach". We have now two context menu buttons that do absolutely the same (align and approach) and the most horrific thing is that the "Approach" button ist now on top. It will take a good amount of time to get used to it. When you have 3 accounts and want to warp all of them to a savespot and in the haste you chose "Approach" instead of warp you simply die...
Please delete the approach and the orbit options again. those should be for targets under 150km away when there is no "Warp to" option like it was before... I am baffled that i saw no other post mentioning this so far.

And this right there is why they did it. CCP wants you to die in your haste.
Have you heard anything I've said?

I agree 10 fold. The new camera buttons are freaking horrible in general. When it first changed I was trying to figure out WTF the difference between align and approach was supposed to be myself. Even the look at function is weird now. Why do we need extra buttons? Having them change depending on what was selected was WAY better and this is a downgrade not an upgrade.
I can handle the way the new camera looks but using it is a pain. It's stuff like this that causes me to not log in very often anymore. I'm tired of logging into space and almost dying just because I can't find a button that was there for 10 years and now isn't. |

I feel so nasty but Reddit has the answer because the Devs don't use their own forums.

We hear you about this and I'm looking in to changing it in a patch next week so that WarpTo is always back to the top, and then the other movement commands come together below it.
FYI the difference between Approach and AlignTo is that Approach (and KeepAtRange) will make you follow the item as it moves, whereas AlignTo makes you go to the xyz where the item is right now. A small but subtle distinction.
I feel that last part is a pretty important distinction that has never been talked about to my knowledge.

Don't forget you can FLY your ships too. I see a lot of pilots stuck in using the context menu to get around. You sit in Orbit, or Align or whatever and forget to actually stay on top of your movement. This has bit me several times, now I'm resorting to manually flying to keep my brain on actually moving my ship while I fight it or run it.

i do that too mate. but you can't warp manualy :) |

Nope, you can't, and thank goodness for that. If I could manually warp, with my horrible flying, I'd end up someplace I might not be able to get back from...
