Hello everyone, I have a small question about scanning: I've scanned 2 wh systems today and I found nothing (I mean no ruins or some signatures WITHOUT sleepers or other NPCs). What am I doing wrong? |

Restate your question, cause at the moment, its gibberish.

Everytime when I go to different wormholes and scan for artifacts (for ruins etc) I see arfifacts surrounded by sleepers or other NPCs. Can I actually find artifacts that are not guarded by NPCs in wormholes? |

I get the gist of what you mean just fine, don't worry!
It really depends on what class of wormhole you are scanning in but sometimes it really is down to nothing more than bad luck. I've been playing Eve a while now and can easily scan down several wormholes in a row of the right type, some even with 20+ sigs in them only to find nothing. Exploration is highly competitive so it makes sites that bit harder to find and you also have to catch the loot fairy in a good mood.
Welcome to Eve!

Pirate Data and Relic sites can spawn in C1-3 wormholes, however sleeper sites can also spawn. Any data/relic site found in a C4-6 will be a sleeper site.

This right here, I will note that the Pirate sites are rarer than the sleeper sites. Also the pirate sites are nullsec sites, so definitely be well skilled to complete them, but they are worth it, as they can net you quite a bit of isk! The sleeper sites dont have much hacking loot, however most of the isk is made by killing the sleepers and looting/salvaging them.

To solo that you'll need a well fit BS/BC though, prefferably a T2 shield fit. It's also doable in a well fit Vexor, but might be a touch slow.

You are not doing anything wrong at all. The issue is that there's loads of players like me who explore in cheap non-combat frigates that can only complete the Pirate Data/Relic sites you are looking for. Competition for those sites are fierce but if you keep exploring you will sooner or later find sites to complete.

most wormholes with a high sec exit are cherry picked. You may need to go deeper into UK space ( Unknown Space ). |

Dive into Britainnnn! XDDD
But yes, go multiple WH's in and once you go in deep, you wont see as many people and your pickings will get better. You can choose to BM your way though to backtrack back to highsec, or to just plough through until you find another hisec exit.

Imagine the wh system like a rotating carousel. What ... I do when looking for stuff, or wh system particular, is get into thera... and from there, scout out till im about 4-6 connections deep and usually, i see nothing but sites and stuff...
Although, wh space is full of sleepers, most of the sites that spawn in there will be guarded by sleepers. Especially the good sites! If you are seeking that kind of solo, nomadic lifestyle or gameplay in eve, I support that and would suggest you check out tech three ships. Its a bit of an investment... but they tank like no other, and can, slowly, take on larger sites like class 3 and class 4 sites when seasoned with skills and training.
In the mean time, get a stratios, and pvp fit it, but make it so it can run your sites and stick to your c2 and c3 sites :) I think a well tanked battlecruiser is capable of completing up to class 3 anoms... but if you get a buddy to help you, thats twice as fast, twice as much dps... twice as much tank. etc. :)
When you scan, remember since recent changes to mechanics of this system, ... no sig will appear farther than 4 or 5 au from any given celestial. Thus, you can set your probes always, to 8 au, overlap formation, and center on the celestial, and scan.... everytime. then when you get a red DOT, you can chase the sig from there... :)
When you get 100% on that sig, and want to scan the next red dot that is 4 au from given celestial, start your probes at 4 au scan... :)
When you are done with all the red dots in the area, move to the next celestial cluster, and set up 8 au, and work to chase your sigs to 100%
Typically what I do is like this
initial scan, 8 au - 2nd scan 2 au - 3rd scan 1 au - usually i have them at one hundred percent there. second sig in the cluster will be a red dot, so then... 1st scan 4 au - 2nd scan 1 au - 3rd scan 0.5 au
What Im doing is skipping a scan range. but.. the trick is... fit two range finders, one pinpoint upgrade to your ship, use sisters probes, use gravity capacity rigs, tech ones preferably, and...
RECENT your probes twice when you skip a scan range...
I scan twice as fast now, I rarely miss a sig. Did I mention its really fast?

IDK if it is still the case but I used to live in a wormhole years ago. Every day I'd have to scan the high sec exit down and it was almost always about 3 jumps from the previous day's exit hole.
If you have a scanning alt, like many wormholers do, then you can just go to the entrance system and start scanning every system within 3 jumps. If that does not work open up the search to 4 jumps from the last known hole. |

I understood the guy perfectly. Maybe if you don't understand the question, politely ask him to write it again in a simpler way for your simple brain to understand it better instead of calling it gibberish. |
