In light of this and this, I think it's only fair that we get an option to select which videos we want to see on these obnoxious screens and anywhere in space now instead of later.
And the person who thought of putting these glasses in a game set 30k years in the future should rethink their life and go work at a local walmart store.

If that doesn't work for you think of these glasses as a fashion choice in a very big universe.

I think of them as that for people residing on the lower end of the intelligence spectrum, but I do not need to see that every 2 minutes in my ship hangar.
And since you linked that page: This is the kind of fashion that would fit into EVE. It's sci-fi-y, steampunky, dark, sinister, extravagant and extraordinary. These glasses, however, are the polar opposite of anything that fits into EVE. It's the work or a mongrel for mongrels.

These glasses, however, are the polar opposite of anything that fits into EVE. It's the work or a mongrel for mongrels. There's a place for extravagance and a place for conservatism. These kinds of non-descript glasses may fit with say a Caldari businessman's sensibilities, but that's pure interpretation from my own head-cannon. Yes, while this game is thousands of years in the future what's to say fashion trends can't be appropriated throughout the ages.
We could also talk about CCP selling a product that people playing the game (who have glasses) may identify with more than some clunky monocle.

Like the standard glasses from the Char creator which are (debatable with the butterfly glasses, granted) superior to this hipster rubbish?
But as said, if people want to look like total goofs, they can go for it. Gives me more ammo to ridicule them. But I do not want to see that in my ship hangar.
