Hello. I've reached the point now where myself and my alt have excellent drone skills. I've been running missions for a while now in the usual manner, using a Kronos, so I can do them at a good rate easily. However I was looking at the Nestor, I love the hull, it looks really good, uses drones for pew and it has bonuses to Remote Armour repairing. Would it be possible (not sensible, if I wanted sensible I'd stick to my Kronos) to run two of these dual boxed, spider tanking? I don't know anything about remote repairing/logistics and I was wondering if anyone here has dual-boxed missions before.
I know they are slow, expensive, etc etc, but I've reached the stage where I am interested in trying different things, and style over substance but I would like to get some ideas/fit suggestions before going nuts.
Cheers, ~ Hei |

It is completely do able. RR is easy 2 large cap transfers and 2-3 armor reps, will need to check with your skills to make sure its cap stable with rr going. I prefer to only have one toon in a drone boat, sentries slow you down. Just put one gun, of any sort, on one of them and assign the drones form the other to it so you only need to target from one ship. The targeting **** put sebo and the support put remote sebo so you target a lot quicker. I would also suggest keeping a large armor rep on each for just in case moments. Depending where you misioning, you may want some ECCM to help with jams and a mwd. You dont need a lot of tanking mods, so you can throw on 4 x DDA's and a sentry scoop rig. Its very hard to mess it up using RR.

Sure, give it a try. You can find plenty of threads about using dual/triple Dominix setups for PVE. I sometimes run a Gun Boat/Eros setup which works well. |

Once you get into dual-boxing there are a lot of different options available, including Nestors. The more ships you have in play the less theoretical tank you need, so RR becomes less and less of an issue.

how do drone bonuses work when assigning to a 2nd ship
for example if i have a rattlesnake and assign the drones to a nightmare, do they keep the rs bonuses or lose them? |

They retain the drone bonuses from the granting ship. So if you're using a Rattlesnake in tandem, make sure it has enough drone control range to match your own. Also note that you will need an offensive weapon of some type to utilize lent drones if you wish to control and direct towards specific targets, as they will auto-engage whatever they feel like otherwise (they will not attack a target with the drone hot key like your own deployed drones).
I find a target painter works best because it effectively has unlimited range, will cause all idle drones to attack and by blooming the target signature greatly improves applying drone damage.
