I began playing EVE yesterday and almost finished all the Opportunities. At first i wanted to make ISK with mining but as i read and self experienced its not profitable. So I finished the Exploration tutorial missions and found them verry satisfying.
My Questions sre: 1) Whitch skills do i have to learn 2) Whitch are good Exploration Ships 3) Whitch equipment do i need to be efficient
Thanks of your helpful answers. |

if you are a newbro and have legit questions better post on EVE New Citizens Q&A, less trolls and strictly monitored by the ISD.
anyway, as for exploration, well it's a huge subject. you can start learning by reading this, enjoy.

Toptier This got me hooked to exploration. Or just search for exploration guide Best tip for fitting: forget weapons, at least 2 warp stabies, shields are optional but a good idea to survive at least one volley. When you are doing sites you don't always see it coming. Keep distance at >2500m to everything so you can cloak when someone enters the side. And run at the first signs of trouble no matter how good the side is. No side is so good that it's worth to risk ship+imps+cargo hold. Forget ghost side in the beginning. And I will bet you will ignore it and learn the hard way, did the same.
Read everything about d-scan and use it. Test it in high on some miners. So you know how to find someone without probes and the risk you are in. Train the cloak/MWD maneuver in High. And test the same thing with overheating the MWD and burning back to gate. Use some MWD that you get as loot, and simply burn them out and throw away. To got into Null you need to have hacking + relic on 4 or you fail a lot. |

For pure exploration you'll want to train for the Helios. Easily the best covops explorer with its 5 mids and 3 lows.

Not a pro in any way but these would be my answers:
1. Astrometrics IV - All other Scanning skills III - Cloaking I-III (IV when you are gonna use the Helios/SoE exploration ships). Those are the skills that are mandatory to be able to explore and survive while doing so.
Other then those Engineering skills for fitting, Armor skills for survival and Navigation skills to make you fly/get away faster. I'd also advice training Frigate to IV early on since you need V for the Helios and each rank makes your Imicus MUCH better at scanning.
2. Your starting Imicus is quite good and is a viable choice for quite some time. Don-¦t feel the need to rush to the Covert Ops/SoE ships since they are VERY expensive in comparison and it's better to learn the ropes before graduating to the more advanced ships in my opinion.
3. Prototype Cloaking Device I and Relic/Data Analyzer I are the mandatory ones early on. Everything else is up to the individual. Personally I don-¦t fit for survival since I'm screwed anyway if I get cought. Better to have a ship that's cheap to replace then to fit in with unneccesarily expensive modules.
I'd also advice NOT to use Warpcore Stabs since they make your targetting **** and thus slows down your hacking serverly. The best defence as a explorer is to be fast at the site your at and the GTFO before any hunter picks up your trail. I go for Nanofiber Internal Structure Mods instead for added mobilty and speed. |

This may be a skill dependent thing, so be wary of different 'style' opinions.
If you have good skills both at the toon level and at the player level, shoot and scoot is probably very valid and may be the way to fly. If you are just learning, you will likely get caught a few times and those warp stabs may save you for the second you need to get away if you fail to notice the incoming threat.
So, as you learn, realize that your play style will likely evolve to match your actual skills as a player.

They don't slow you down. You have to approach to 5000m and with 2 cores you can lock targets at +10.000m. That's more then enough time to lock it untill you are in reach for the analyser. And while you are hacking the sides you can't keep a constant look on the overview/d-scan. These little things kept me alive on some occasions. If you are new you will not see the danger comming and take longer to hack, then they will safe you and in a covert ops there is no real reason for nanofiber because you can just cloak and warp away. |

It is actually, cause skills aren't even maxed out. So you can imagine that with max skills, you'll be rolling in isk fairly soon. Or are you gonna tell me is to move to null so I can get bored out of my mind? I'm sure you are. No thanks. |

I explore a lot, and personally think.it's the best profit to investment ratio in Eve. I'm also a director in a corp in Sixth Empire, and started a free exploration frig program for our alliance. We give out fully fitted Magnates, and they are very effective, even for an old player. Here's the fit: [Magnate, Magnate Gate to Wealth] Warp Core Stabilizer I Damage Control I Signal Amplifier II Warp Core Stabilizer I
5MN Microwarpdrive I Data Analyzer I Relic Analyzer I
Core Probe Launcher I, Core Scanner Probe I Prototype Cloaking Device I [empty high slot]
Small Gravity Capacitor Upgrade I Small Low Friction Nozzle Joints I Small Polycarbon Engine Housing I
Salvage Drone I x3Acolyte I x3
The sigamp offsets the lowered lock range from the Stabilizers, and gives you a bonus lockable target. While the fit is for a Magnate, it's just as suitable for an Imicus, and will make you loads of ISK. Just fly cautiously, watch d-scan, and if you see probes or a close ship bail out. Better to lose a site than a ship.
If you want more info, feel free to hit me up in game, or join the 6th Public channel to chill with us. Lots of folks to help, and we love to see new players prosper.

But frankly the Astero is a quicker train and much more powerful and flexible.
