Hey, so im a pretty new player and i've recently made my first 1.2b. I'm looking for ways to turn my Skill Injector into money making skills. I like exploration, but it seems REALLY inconsistent. Sometimes i explore for hours and wont find anything. I also like to PvP (am stationed in null with PH) so any training that would help with a PVP ships and money making would be cool. Any suggestions? |

maybe link your skillsheet so we can have a look, personally id pick the money making over the pvp at first, the faster you can make money the quicker you will get the pvp sorted, depends what your core skills are like tho

PVP training is very dependant on having the right skills for the right ship, you need to have an idea of what you'd like to fly. A T3TD would be a wise thing to train into for PVP but then CovOps and T2 frigates would be great if you like exploring. Then again you can max out some skills so you can use T2 fittings, particularly for shield tanking. You could also train up various commonly used support skills It just depends on what's already trained and what you actually want to do.

One million SP won't get you too far as far as ISK farming goes. Maybe try to get into CovOps frigates to do exploration?

Exploration in J-space is how I make my money, even if it is inconsistent it's more fun and better on average then any other PvE activity I have tried.
If you do like to explore and want to buy a skill injector using it to boost scanning skills could be worth it. A minimum requirement on scanning skills to make it effective in my opinion would be:
Astrometrics IV - Archeology III - Hacking III - All support skills III.
If I where to train further then this getting Archeology and Astrometrics to V would be my top choices since they open up the use of really good modules. Hacking is nice but all sites in J-space (from what I know) are guarded and thus not possible to complete with a T1/T2 exploration ship.
If you have all scanning skills trained to a appropraite level training for a T2 Covert Ops exploration frigate is where I would go. Covert Ops also opens up the Stealth Bomber which seems to be quite fun for PvP activities.
Now all of what I have written above is void if you haven-Št trained core skills (that's Armor/Shields, Engineering and Navigation) to a sufficient level, always go with those skills first since they enhance all ships greatly. |

You can find null-sec exploration sites (they begin with the name of a pirate faction) in lower class wormhole space. These are not guarded by sleepers. All of the other ones are guarded by sleepers in one way or another.

Sell the skill injector and use the isk to buy a few T2 exploration ships and a bunch of T1 pvp frigates and fittings for all and have lots of isk left over.
Do what you find fun and don't focus on making isk.
Sure exploration is inconsistent isk-wise, but if you like it, do it because you like it. :)
Train skills the regular way.

Depending on your current SP, 1.2 bil is..maybe 2 injectors? which is between 1 million and 300k SP. Never not cruisers, really. Navy Vexor with good sentry drone skills, can do sites pretty easily to make money. Just fit it for sniping, warp in to the anom at 100 and pew pew pew. Kinda boring but IIRC you can get upwards of 20 mill ticks.
If that's not your thing, it's never a bad thing to start easing your way to your next objective.
Or you know...you could always get into the station trading game. 1.2 bil isn't the worst capital to use to get into that jazz. |

Station trading is very time consuming and frustrating tbh with the under cutters who don't care about wiping millions off their own margins just to screw you over and push you out of the market.

First of all gratz on making 1.2 bill ISK within 10 days. I am definitely impressed.
As others have said, since you enjoy Exploration, training up the Scanning skills will directly help you make ISK quicker as well as benefit you in hunting down targets for PvP.
As for not finding any Exploration sites, expand your search areas. Don't just stay in one area, set up routes in various areas and check each route at different times. Eventually you'll know what time each route is hot and when it's not. That alone will help gain more ISK. Also if a route seems like it's void of sites then go check another route. The more routes you have set up the quicker you'll find sites and thus make more ISK.
Now when I say a route, I'm talking about 6 to 12 systems or so that are connected in a circle / pocket or in a straight pipeline. Designate a start and end system for each route and use the in-game notepad to list those routes.
For example : Route 1 = ABC-12 to DEF-34 (all deadend sys in pipe) Route 2 = GHI-56 to JKL-78 to MNO-90 (all connected sys in pocket)
Hope that helps, good luck to you and may you have a long rewarding career here in Eve.

Skill points are skill points regardless of how you get them. I see no reason why skill points gotten from injectors should be view any differently than ones that you train in the skill queue.
So to me your question should be more like where should I go with my training because I see no way that the tiny amount of skill points that you get from an injector will increase your earning potential enough to justify their purchase. I'm not saying that you should not use injectors I'm just saying don't look for some kind of isk earning ROI.
So on to the question of what to train I will tell you the same thing that I tell all new players, try everything and prioritize skills related to the activities that you do most. This game is a sandbox and there is no wrong way to play it so having fun should be the priority IMHO.
In summary try everything and then prioritize skills based on a combination of skill most closely related to the activities you do most while keeping shorter training skills first and keeping in mind that you will need a broad base of generic support skills for anything that you do. Beyond that it comes down to your personal playstyle and preferences. |

In my last post I answered the question that you asked and now I am going to answer the question that I think you should have asked which is "what should I do with 1.2 Billion isk?".
So in Eve knowledge of the game trumps skill points every time and in every way. So if you enjoy PvP I would say that your 1.2 Billion isk would be much better spent buying cheap ship with which to go out and gain PvP experience. The experience that you gain from those PvP encounters will be far more valuable than the small amount of skill points that you can buy with that same isk.
Further that same experience will likely go a lot further in increasing your isk earning ability than the skill points will as well. |

in this quote you underlined "money making" to stress that as if there are skills in this with which you can make isk and ones that you can not. You can make isk doing pretty much anything in this game. So your specifying money making skills ( which really should be isk making skills ) is not only pointless but more to the point shows a misconception of the game that I feel needs to be corrected.
So if I read inbetween the lines on your post it sounds to me like you just spent RL money on a PLEX and sold it in game for isk and are looking for a way to justify the purchase through an increase in earning potential when this is a game and the only reason to spend money on a game is to have fun or at least enjoy the time spent doing it.
As you will see posted again and again here fun / hour > isk / hour. So welcome to Eve, have fun and don't fall into the trap of turning the game into a job.

I would not recommend using skill injectors until there is a long skill that you "really" want.
Unless you have a lot more than 1.2B, I'd save the injectors until there is a 2-3 week skill that would make a big difference in your game, but you have so many shorter skills you need to train. A T2 weapon system for example. Or Destroyer V so you can get in a tactical destroyer.
If you have SP left over, save it until the next big skill that you just got to have.

Thank's for all the help, clarification and useful information guys :D. I ended up figuring out a way to bootstrap a great ISK making method. It turns out PHorde runs lowsec incursions with russians. Using 2 skill injectors i fit myself into a shitfit VNI, and am currently making a healthy 80m-200m/hr depending on sites. |

i would personally go for PI.
it's tediuos setting it up at 1st, but after that for just a couple of min/day you can earn decent amount of isk and you are free to do other stuff.

Make a gank alt, 1 injector* gets you to like 80% max catalyst dps (600 or so).
*Or 1 week of training |
