So I finally traded my old 21 inch blastercanon monitor in for a widescreen LCD monitor. No software to install, plug in and it worked. I changed screen resolution from 1280*1024 to 1680*1050. Everything working like clockwork. Or so I thought. When I startup EVE I have no problems untill selecting whcih character to play. However, choosing a character and then entering the game sometime(!) causes problems varying from my pc spontaneously rebooting to flickering display and graphics completely messed up. Closing EVE client and starting it again sometimes solves the problem, sometimes it does not. I have changed the EVE-display to 1280*1024 again, to no avail. At one point I was so disgusted I completely removed the EVE-client and did a clean install. Problem still exists. I have tried disabling all graphic features, does not help. The worrying aspect is, it does not happen all the time... I have this problem only with EVE. Everything else on the PC works fine, including another internet game. Any idea what may cause such behaviour? Any ideas on solving the issue? I could put back my old monitor, but that 1 was giving the ghost, so I am not going to permanently use that again, especcially because(sofar) it's only with EVE I have these problems. Any suggestion welcome! ----- FreeHansje

Maybe overstressed your graph card with the new resolutions to the point it broke for several specific instructions? Not that i actually know what i'm talking about in that respect but i had similar behaviour when i overheated my older graph card over a year ago during a particularly hot summer day.
(i know i should've been drinking beer outside, which i got on to do after the thing broke :) )
PS. - 'de geest geven' has no such direct english translation afaik ;)

Hm... I have doubst on that. Nothing else causes these problems. Also, according the specs my card can support this resolution. Tnx for responding though. ----- FreeHansje

Well, I have found a work-around, to whom it might concern. When on the character-choosing screen I set resolution back to initial: 1024*768. When I've entered the game I set it back to 1680*1050. It's a pain, and I really would like to know what causes this. ----- FreeHansje
