Question for all the hard-core drone missioners out there (Rattlesnakes, Nestors, Domi)... In general, what do you find more effective for applying sentry drone damage (assuming you only had the choice of one):
Omnidirectional Tracking Link or Target Painter.
I'm looking for practical (real) observations and feedback. Thanks.
I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Domi is different story due to superb bonus (drone tracking speed) I'm using two omni tracking links with tracking script. My Wardens II able to hit frigate from 25km. BTW faction sentries have better tracking Sentries usually oneshot small-medium ship. The links can run nonstop. TP has 5sec delay. I don't want to wait on CD so I prefer the links. |

I know the Dominix has excellent drone tracking, so it's kind of in a unique place that lends itself towards omnidirectional tracking links. I think ships like the Rattlesnake and Nestor may benefit more from a target painter since it augments both weapon systems, but I was curious to hear from other players.

Well, I would say that TP is better then a 3rd Omni. So dual Omni + TP. This is how I run my Dominix witch is the best Sentry Drone ship for lvl. 4s in my opinion.
Also, since I don't use guns on Domi, the TP is needed to manage aggro. |

I personally prefer omni's over tp's simply because you don't have to wait for the cd. That 5 second cycle time really starts to add up. |

In my missioning Rattle i have TP. Never felt that it's cycle time is bad. Usually when you order drones to attack they spend like 1-2 seconds to 'lock, point, shoot'. Then comes cooldown time of something like 4 seconds.
Usually when i iterate over targets i order drones to shoot and engage TP. Drones pop NPC frigate/destroyer and then i order to shoot next target, wait for TP to go free, engage it and then it looks like TP starts at the same time with drones actually start shooting.
(Maybe it's just my internet ping time tho)
